You're kidding right?! Wade is very good but w/out the intimidating defense from Shaq and Zo, Miami gets swept big time. Give Wade his due but don't in any way think that Zo had no effect on the outcome. Offense wins games...Defense wins championships. Miami had a nice balance of both O and D while the Mavs withered from all the distractions from Cuban and their intent on blaming refs when things didn't go their way. Wade is a pure warrior and I love the heart he puts into the game but it was as he said "15 strong" and part of that 15 was strong DEFENSE. Why do you think the Spurs went so quickly to try and grab Zo away from Miami? It was for his Defense. As good as Wade is, I seriously doubt Miami would have won the series w/out the outstanding play from Zo. I agree.

miami did not win because of defense. they won because of a combo of 3 things.
1) dallas meltdown and stupidity 2) D-wade (played great) 3) refs giving wade a few hundred ft's per game
defense you gotta be kidding me.
but back to subject the spurs are not boring to watch they play sound basketball. they did play a slow pace about 2 years ago and that was boring to watch, so did pistons, nets. It seems teams realize playing good defense doesnt mean that your offense has to be slow. nothing was worse than the spurs nets finals though, prison inmates went back to their cells rather than watch that @#$%.

defense you gotta be kidding me. you must be joking right?! I guess you are saying that Alonzo Mourning was in the games most crucial moments because of his offense. Yeah right, and I guess he just happened to be blocking his own team's shots. Get a clue...and I guess you are saying that Shaq is not a defensive presence right? Shaq happens to scare most guards in the league away from the basket...And I guess that Gary Payton has never been known to be a good defensive player or James Posey right? And that Udonis Haslem has never been a defensive presence right? Miami had the exact kind of defense they needed to beat Dallas...a physical defense. And when Miami decided to up their physicality with Dirk and their other soft players...Dallas was done. Offense got Miami ahead but it was their defense that kept them ahead and got them the championship. Those without basketball experience will always credit flashy offense and always underappreciate the value of solid defense and will not be able to recognize it. You can win a Title without great offense (the Spurs proved that a couple times) but you can't win a title without solid defense. "Offense wins games...Defense wins championships." Not one NBA coach has ever tried to refute that quote.

wow your post is full of bs.
everyone knows zo is in for defense that was never a point i made. shaq was in the game to to miss free throws lol, and yes he takes up room on defense everyone knows that. payton though is 65 yrs old and used to be a great defender, not anymore. posey a defender ? your kidding right. i never heard him being praised for defense. hes a 3 point specialist always has been. haslem is not a defensive player, he's an offensive player. um you said " offense got miami ahead and defense kept them ahead" they were down 2-0. even when they won games it was a photo finish in most games.
my whole point if you can read is this :
Miami's defense did NOT win them the championship. D.WADES offense did
defensively they were about even. If wade does not get average like 40+ pts in every game aftter g2 they dont win. they probably get swept.
as i said before it was jerry stackhouses stupidity for getting suspended when he was their 3rd, arguably 2nd most important scorer in that series. also dallas's in-experience and some bs officiating helped the heat come out on top.
You sound like your a miami fan or something. i'm not refuting that defense wins championships but last years title was won by a scrappy guy from marquette. dallas had good defense, miami beat probably the best defensive team in the league in the eastern finals.

yea i gotta agree, D-Wade was reminiscent of MJ during the finals. Without him, theres no way in hell they would've won.

Well first off, I am not a Miami fan. But it seems as though you are in love with Wade who had a great series. You seem to forget the stops that had to be made against a great offensive team (Dallas) to get the ball to Wade in the first place. Didn't you watch the series? or were you just staring at Wade the whole time. There were some others in the game doing their jobs as well. As Wade said..."15 strong". It seems like you just can't accept that one man does not make a team and that without his teammates, Wade wouldn't have won didly. Zo happened to be the X facotr in that series because of his inspiration off the bench and his determination to not give up. He fired them up with awesome blocks and his energy for an old man. Of course the best player on the floor was Wade...but Miami had balance on offense and defense as I mentioned before. Defense wins championships...enough said.

I'm done with this guy. you cant realize that what you are saying is wrong ?? defense didnt not win that series , D-WADE DID. dallas defense was just as good, but they couldn't stop 1 player on miami D-WADE. case closed back to orginal topic please. PLEASE lol

Wade did say "15 strong"...I personally watched him say it along with the rest of the NBA nation. Riley may have been the first to say it but Wade certainly said the same on National T.V. And no, Wade did not win that series, the team did and half the team plan was solid defense on Dallas which they did. As I said before...there has to be a balance of Offense and Defense and Miami had that... period. I am a coach in the Junior NBA and I know that we teach that it all hinges on defense...the offense will come and go but defense must be consistent for the times that your offense isn't. I'm sorry if you got offended but this is basic basketball knowledge. End of story.

"The spurs are the most winning team in the past ten years." LMAO you remember that year and how they got the first pick and how they got timmy? that was pretty darn bad. well tim duncan i gotta say is underrated...... people dont understand how much he dominates i would say hes pretty close to shaq... and i love how they play!! how can somone not enjoy running ginobli and parker running down the court doing crazy moves. i guess its not fun watching only 1team score tho

I hate it when you guys call a team boring just because they play the game it was invented to be played. Sure a flashy, run and gun team like Phoenix is fun to wacth, but how many championships has it won them?
