Team USA really took off in the third quarter with our captain Kirk at point. Up until the third quarter the lead was back and forth several times.  When Hinrich began his defense against Arroyo the Puerto Rican team's scoring came to an abrupt stop.  We started causing turn overs and started getting fast break points.  We started a runaway that ended up with a final score 114 to 60.

Bill Walton gushed over Hinrich's defense several times and talked about how good the Bulls were going to be this year with the addition of Big Ben.

I think Kirk ended up with 2 threes and 8 points overall.

Although Chris Paul is flashier, the best guard combinations seemed to be Kirk/Wade or Kirk/Arenas.  I don't know how they can cut Hinrich after his performance tonight.

Yeah, Hinrich/Wade was an excellent guard combination in the Puerto Rico game.  They played well together.

To be accurate, they started to pull away in the second quarter right before halftime when they went up by 13.  Hinrich was important to that for sure, but I'm not sure how you can say that Paul is flashier, did you notice he had 8 assists in 15 minutes?  Also there isn't a player that's going to be able stay with Paul.  This isn't taking anything away from Hinrich, who I think should make the team and get decent minutes (about 16-18 a game), but Paul is the best point guard the US has, and shouldn't be so quick to dismiss him.

Hinrich played great but I wish he would penatrate into the defense more and dish out.
