He was a decent player, but not worth that type of cash.

Yeah, for the money they spent, Deshawn Stevenson is a much better pick up.  Jefferies provided them with a lot of versatility but he'd disappear during games sometimes.  I'd like to see him develop into the player he could be, but I don't think he will.

I just think that players with his size and skill set are too hard to come by. I hate to say it......Great pickup by the Knicks.

Man that really hurt to post. :?

Well letting him stay on the market for that long didn't seem smart. He was so unsatisfied with the offers, it looked like he was only gonna get a one-year qualifying offer from them. You can't blame them for not matching the offer. So who's their power forward now? Jamison is not physical enough.

Actually, Jefferies played more shooting guard for the Wizards than anything else last season, and they had Jamison and Butler playing the two forward spots.  Sometimes, if the line-up was small he'd play a pseudo-center.  The thing is Jefferies is even less physical than Jamison (who gets a bad rap but isn't strong enough to handle most power forwards).

Actually, Wiz offered Jeffery 33 millions for 6 yrs. It was Jeffery who is contemplating signing the one yr qualifying offer so he could become a unrestricted FA.

I think the main reason Wiz did not match the Knick's offer is the trade kicker, which means if Jeffery does not pan out, he would be very hard to trade. On top of that Stvenson is a lot cheaper (but shorter, so it would be tough for him to guard Dirk).

I don't think being able to guard Nowitzki is very high on the Wizards list of priorities.

I sould have said "players like Dirk" (i.e., mobile guys with length).

I think Jeffery had certain success guarding LeBron in the palyoff (there is at least one block should have been a charge on LeBron). I do not know if Stvenson can guard player 6'8" or above.

Blache has the length + mobility, and seems to be a better offensive player than Jeffery, I do not know how good a defender he is though.

Well, the term success is relative. He did draw a couple of charges on LeBron and frustrated him a little. Of course, no one can shut LeBron down, and I did not mean that Jefferies can.

However, taht does not mean the opposing team should not try their best in defending LeBron. And I believe that Jefferies had done the best among Wiz in guarding LeBron.

He's a good defender but not worth the money Isaiah gave him. Songaila might be the starting PF now giving them more in the low post. They need to get someone who can defend.
