I guess in spirit of all the other threads I'll ask Magic fans, and all that care to comment what they expect from this offseason.

Currently theres a few rumours and speculations running around about what will happen with the team.

- Deshawn Stevenson: Already opt'd out to become a free agent but the O-Sent reports that Magic will still try and keep a hold of him. There has been speculation (mainly from fans) that he may be used in a sign and trade, either to bring in another SG or just move up the draft.

- Keyon Dooling: Rumours of him being shopped to try and move up the draft ladder, he was a very good part of the successful 2nd unit at the later stage of last season, and ofcourse he made great friends with Ray Allen.

- The draft itself, 11th pick atm, who are we looking at (JJ Redick pretty much lost it now what with his back injury and drunk driving / attitude) will we move up and grab something like 8th ? Who would we be shopping about, Dooling? Garrity or other trade baits (rights to Fran Vaq for e.g)

Other bits are Trevor Ariza being re-signed, will he wont he ? Personally want to see him back as I did like his energy in the 2nd unit when he got playing.

Basically think that the main bulk of the off season is going to be securing that all important SG (now that DS has definatly opt'd out) and then a back up SG and possibly a vetern back up forward.

What would people like to see happen, basically leading up to and after the draft in terms of offseason personal movement ?

well fran was just traded to barcelona.
i think that dealing dooling and/or garrity for a palyer like marcus williams. he's an excellent distributor. having him run the point, hedo and hill (possibly, if not then ariza)  running alongside, and the up and coming millicic and magic star howard would be an exciting young team. elthough VERY VERY inexperienced. offseason should be worked on by signing another veteran big man.

draft rodney carney or ronnie brewer hey an athletic do it all two with turkgulu and jameer nelson with howard and millicic man that'd be something let them grow with some veterans of the bench:D, at first I thought they should draft JJ redick and I still think it'd be a good fit but if that guy needs back surgery I don't know. If howard gets any midrange game and a solid post game. I think they can at least make the first round of the playoffs........just cuzz

Fran was traded by Garona to Barcalona, not Orlando Magic trading his rights I believe, so we infact still hold onto his rights, Fran (well his girl friend) still doesnt want to play in the NBA, but we can trade his contract for the finacial rather than the player side of things.

the magics biggest need is finidng an athletic shooting guard. there dosent seem to be many in the free agency tho, i really think the magic will be moving up in the draft to draft a legit top 6 pick.

Yeah definatly. The other peices should be in place for a really solid playoff team, just need to ensure that we have the starter and backup at SG (dooling is fine as a backup combo guard really, but he might be used to trade up).

I guess one other pressing matter is the state of Grant Hill. There is no way, and I am sure he would agree with this himself, that if he pulls through everything and decides to keep playing that he will be starting, he'll be putting in no more than 20mins(ish) a night.

It's ridicule that someone believe that transaction between NBA Teams and European Teams could be done. NBA is a world apart.

Fran Vazquez won't be the answer for Orlando troubles... They should sign some young players and draft a 2 or a 3, maybe Rodney Carney, and then look for another losing season and focus for an hot Summer 2007 with an high draft pick and a lot of salary cap space...

This summer if they can re-sign Ariza to a cheap contract (maybe 1 million or 2) they've to take him; if not, let's greet him.

its a tough situation tho this years draft for the magic due to the cap room we have for next season. theres no guarantees we can draft the player we need now and then get the player we also need in next seasons free agency. so do you think we should draft on talent regardless of posistion?

Ive always thought Reddick would be a good fit for Orlando. They lack a good outside shooter, and this he would spread the floor to open it for Howard.

Picking him at #11 may seem too high, since everyone seems to have him going at 14+, but I really think he would be useful in Orlando...

Fran isnt the answer for Orlando at all, but trading his rights is something in the bank (Otis Smith has pretty much said he will use Fran as a finacial asset).

Reddick I really dont like. We want to bring in a decent starter at SG at the very least, Reddick wont be that.

im a bit 2-way on reddick, i mean the guy can obviousley shoot but its the other end of the caught where he becomes a concern. drafting him then trading him wouldnt be a bad idea for the magic. what the magic needs is an athletic 2 who is avergae or better at both ends of the court.

I just hope we can get JR Smith...Maybe a Garrity and second might do the job...In the draft, I'm high on Rudy Gay. I don't think he'll be available at 8, if we we're to swap with Houston. I am just waiting for Magic Confid. to give me some updates...

^^ yep i totally agree on the JR smith front. ive started a topic on it in the magic section. his the ideal player for the magic, young, athletic and a scorer!

rudy would be perfect to get in the draft, but knowing the magic omething will go wrong.

Who would they trade for JR? NOK doesn't need a PG, they got CP3 (Chris Paul). Proably won't happen anyway. Yeah, the Magic have alot going for them even without the draft. They have:

Darko & Dwight- they need to become good friends and work off each other. There's potential, and they had flashes of brilliance when they were on the court together

Trade Bait:
Fran Vasquez (take advantage of the Kincks and send him there for a pick of two, Isaiah will love it!)
Dooling (too injured to shpw his skills)
and Stevenson (I think he's a bust honestly)

Good young PG's: Nelson (clutch player) & Arroyo (fan favorite)

And most importantly....
CAP SPACE: 15.4 mil off the books from penny (best thing he ever did for Orlando) and 16.7 will come off after Grant Hill is gone. If he comes back, he getting the 5.4 mil exception, nothing more. 07 free agency will be huge.
