I can't post a link for it because Carter can't be traded until Dec.15th.

Carter, Krstic, Magloire (expiring 4 M), Collins and Nachbar (expiring 2.5 M) for Kobe, Vujacic, Mihm and Radmanovic.
Due to financial reasons, force Kobe to opt-out and sign a 10-15 M per year contract by telling him Kidd, who'll be a FA at the same time, won't be re-signed if he doesn't comply. Kidd would be given an identical contract to Bryant's.

Kidd/Williams/Vujacic
Kobe/Wright/Vujacic
Jefferson/Wright/Radmanovic
Radmanovic/Boone/Allen/Robinson
Mihm/Boone/Williams/Robinson
Incoming value: 29.4 M
Outgoing value: 27.8 M

You know, I think I would.
It would've been nice to at least keep Magloire then, since I'm not sure if Boone ever will be healthy, and we don't have any rebounders.

Then again, we have Kidd, Kobe and RJ, who all get 5 to 8 rebounds a night.

But I think the Nets would be over the salary cap with that deal, right?

I'm sure they would make some moves if this trade is done.

I'd do it in a heartbeat. Instant contenders in the East. It'd be between them and Boston.

Would take Hardaway over Payton in man to man defense.

As long as Bryant and Kidd are willing to take a paycut when their contracts end in 2 years (Kobe's opt-out in 2 years), this doesn't hurt the Nets financially. As you can see their incoming value is only 1.6 M more than the outgoing. They would almost certainly re-sign Krstic and that would cause some financial problems.

If the Lakers want to take that package, I'd do it if I were the Nets. Getting some big man help would be imperative shortly afterwards. See if Charles Oakley wants to come back or something.

PJ Brown would be a good addition.
