He is not an allstar here this year, but would probably be incredibly good in the LA triangle. The reason he is injured as that for the last couple years he has been asked to be something he is not, a Center.
He is a power forward that added pounds to his frame to bang down low in a stodgy half court offense, that had no one like Kobe on the outside. He was getting double and triple teamed coming off the team bus.
In the triangle, with Kobe, the opposition can not gang cover him, so he should last longer. You have Bynum and Mihm so he can go back to PF where he should be.
In this new offense, in Indiana, Kevin Garnett wouldn't put up all star numbers. This system is about motion and balanced scoring. The more people in double figures the better. That doesn't work well with a person who wants to go one on one in the post every time down.
Systems can make players, and they can also ruin players. Dunleavey is playings incredibly well here right now, but couldn't get off the Warriors bench.
I would like to keep Murphy and Harrison right now, since both are becoming productive in this offense.
I say no to the trade, not because of what we get back, but rather the extras we lose. There is some interesting chemistry here right now, and I would hate to see that messed with.
