Indianapolis Star -
Quote
The Indiana Pacers will be without their best playmaker for at least a week.

After watching Jamaal Tinsley try to play through the pain in his left hamstring, the Pacers have decided to shut the point guard down for now.

"Unfortunately, I have allowed him to play at less than his best over the last five games," Pacers' Coach Jim O'Brien said. "To his credit, he wants to play, will play injured, but it's really hampering his ability to play at his best...If it takes seven-to-10 days to get that right, that's what we'll do."

Tinsley first injured his leg when he tried to split a double team late in a Dec. 15 game against Miami. He sat out the Dec. 19 game against Philadelphia but played the next four games. Tinsley is averaging 13.8 points and a career-high 8.7 assists.

The combination of Tinsley and Daniels were horrible to watch in the Friday Detroit game.  Tinsley couldn't defend at all.  He was like an orange cone on the highway.  Daniels was sick and looked like it.

This is why they needed to split the minutes up more.  Owens will be starting, and I think Diener needs to see more time.  At the end of the Friday game he made almost everything he looked at.

The coaching staff needs to be quicker to recognize these things.  When Tinsley isn't 100% his ability to create points suffers, and with his usually weak defense, there is just no reason for him to be out there.  Owens doesn't produce as many points right now, but he is a better defender, and stops more points.  Which is more important???

With Tinsley out in Charlotte Owens did pretty darn well.
15 pts
4 reb
2 asst
2 steals
0 turnovers

He also held Felton to 2of8 from the floor.

Luckily we had Daniels and Williams to assume Tinsley's role as the orange cone in the road.

I don't get this team.  Dunleavey fouls out and then Murphy fouls out.  Naturally we replace them with Daniels and Williams and give up a 13 point lead and die in OT.  We gave up like 5 offensive rebounds in the last  couple minutes of the fourth.
Where were Foster and Diogu???
Is the coach just giving these away, or is everyone injured???
