haha exactly it's not about 'Phoenix gets an all-star'- that's irrelevant. A trade is supposed to decrease weaknesses and add strengths. Carter doesnt give them anything they need, whilst taking away things they DO need. Not hard to comprehend. It also isn't good asset management because Carter is nigh-on untradable.

ok lits break this trade down, PHX give away marion and barbosa and get in return TWO YOUNG and good centers who cn actually play D unlike every other post player they have.... and they get the player who can complement the scoring loss by barbosa and marion!! and they get another 3pt shooter and a good energy guy who ALSO can play D (yes sir, sasha can play D, im not being biased or something.. the guy is very active on that end and will always try to harass u and make ur shots more difficult)...
barbosa cant play D, so if u trade barbosa for VC ur ONLY GETTING AN UPGRADE, and when u trade marion for TWO YOUNG BIG MEN WHO CAN PLAY D (and krstic can really score) and a combo guard who can play the 1 2 3 and shoot from deep, this is at least on par...
this trade adds depth to the suns and makes them better on D and doesnt hurt their scoring!

i just cant see ur point, marion is their biggest headache and the "big 3" will be broken when they fail to reach the WCF this year so why not try something else??

No it's not on par- your thinking is skewed.

Marion is one of the best defenders in the league, both otb and off the ball. Krstic isnt a good defender, I dont know why on earth you think that. As explained, Milicic also isnt that great either so even combining the two doesnt equal a Marion. Marion does everything- can steal, rebound, defend.

The fact that Vince scores is an irrelevance- they dont need it and his contract is the hilarious downer here. They just won't take it. Why do you think they would if they wouldn't re-up Marion (a far superior fit) for that money?

Marion is going to cut his contract at the end of the year. Don't you beleive that trading him for something, especially if they could get VC, would be great. Vince's contract is fat (4 years at 62mil), but with Nash and Marion along side him this opens more OFFENSIVE ideas for the Suns. Plus the Suns don't play defence. I think the trade will never happen cause nobody in the NBA has actually offered it...yet...but I think all of the teams win. But the second trade with Barbose and Miller added in is not as good as the original...in my opinion.

Sarver is an idiot. I doubt he will see that. Even with the luxury tax included, he is still making so much money from endorsements and things from Suns. Also, Suns is not the only thing he owns. He owns a couple casinos if I am not mistaken. I have no clue why is Sarver complaining. I guess some people are like that. The more they make, the greedier they get. It's pretty sad but what are you going to do about it?  :?
This is exactly why I like Mark Cuban so much. He makes so much money from Mavs and doesn't mind spending so much luxury taxes on them at all. All he cares about is winning and keeping team together. I like that a lot. If only more owners were like him.
