I would propose a trade of Etan Thomas to Indiana for Jeff Foster.

The salary of the two are close. Foster is not as good a shot blocker, but a much better rebounder, which Wiz needs (One of the weakness of Wiz is giving up too many offensive rebounds).

In addition, Foster can play power forward while Thomas purely a center, a position Wiz has a logjam with Haywood, Booth and Ramos.

Jeff Foster has appeared in trade rumors, so Indiana is willing to give him up. Thomas, OTOH, can give Pacers some shot blocking ability, and a body to bang with other centers so O'Neal does not have to constanly bang his body with big guys so much and worn down.

Jeff Foster is too slow to play PF.  He's purely a Center.  Washington would have to throw in a couple of 2nds or a 1st to make that happaen, and Foster isn't worth it.

Absolutely don't know what you are talking about. If Foster isn't worth it, why would Wiz throw in a couple of draft picks? I was not proposing a block buster trade, this is a trade for players who are quality reserves but marginal starters (both players have started for their respective teams).

Here is their career averages:
Foster: 4.9 pts, 6.8 rb, and 0.3 blk
Thomas: 6.2 pts, 5.0 rb, and 1.1 blk

As I said, Foster is a better rebounder, while Thomas a better shot blocker. But their overall values (and salaries) are comparable.

I do agree with you that Foster isn't really a PF; But, heck, Wiz use Calvin Booth at PF, who is not really a PF either. Smiley
