Washington Post - Gilbert Arenas' experience with Team U.S.A. has left him with a bitter taste in his mouth, particularly about assistant coaches Nate McMillan and Mike D'Antoni.
"I'm going to be the silent assassin this year," he said. "I can't wait to play the Suns and Portland. Against Portland, Nate McMillan, I'm going to try to score 100 in two games and against D'Antoni, I'm going to score 100 in two games. I'm going to try." Oh man, its not good to get Arenas mad.... yea the Suns and Blazers are going to have to make new plans against the Wizards this year

Yes true to that. Still I think he can't pass 82 points by kobe. But if he does it would make Kobe stop talking about it til does day.

I think Gilbert Arenas is being ridiculously childish. He's playing the underdog card too hard now. The team didn't think he fit, he needs to get over it and maybe lead his team somewhere instead of threatening huge ballhog performances against certain teams. Add this with his not obeying police earlier this summer, i've lost a lot of respect for Arenas.

I think they went about it in a class way. They used his injury as a way for him to save face. Truth is no one would know for certain that was cut if he hadn't confirmed it in the interview. Next up is the Olympics. The reality of the situation is that someone is going to get cut. That someone is probably going to be a star in the league. I don't envy anybody at USA Basketball for having to deal with the Associated Stars egos.

He is being childish and selfish. The "omg i'm so upset just like him that he isn't appreciated enough" line is getting really old.

He is being childish and selfish. The "omg i'm so upset just like him that he isn't appreciated enough" line is getting really old. He's been doing this his entire career, it's just that now he has a soapbox to stand on where people will listen to him. None of it matters in the long run, if it motivates him, great, if he's just blowing smoke, then there's that too. Nothing to really get worked up about.

Whatever floats his boat. He may be playing the underdog card too much as Renkas said, but everybody has a certain way of motivating him/herself. If he chooses to go the "me against the world" way and manges to score 50 pts and help his team win, then good for him and his team.
