Wallace and Gordon

for

Horry, Finley, Mahimi, Barry, Bonner, Elson

The Bulls get rid of Wallace for mostly expring contracats and the Spurs trade crap (Elson, Bonner, Mahimi) and the Old-and-ineffective (Finley, Barry, Horry) to improve their starting five to look like this:

Duncan
Wallace
Bowen
Ginobli
Parker

From the bench they replace what Ginobli was giving them scoring-wise with Gordon. They still have Vaughn at the back-up point, and Udoka for defense. With Wallace starting Oberto moves to the bench, and the Spurs have a higher quality group of big-men overall. They'd also probably have one of the best defensive groups all-time, with enough offense in Duncan, Ginobli, Parker (and with Wallace and Duncan, you can imagine them putting Gordon into the line-up with Park and Ginobli for offense).

If Gordon doesn;t get a fat extension (something SAS is not known for giving to anyone not named Tim Duncan) then he'll leave. And the SPurs will once again be the old veteran team losing gas season after season.

IMO it's pointless.

The point is that this puts San Antonio in a position to win now. They need to do something. It's likely Gordon would sign for less for them, and even if he does leave it's not like they lost much in trading for him; they lost next to nothing in fact. The Bulls might even release some of those guys and let them re-sign with the Spurs.

San Antonio are always in a position to win, Moon, whether you think so or not. They dont do stuff like this. Pop would eat Gordon alive.
