As an ATL fan, I would do it. Get rid of some expirings to roll the dice on Curry. Not bad. Don't know why Jones is there though. We could just keep either Lue or AJ and not take him. It wouldn't matter to NYK (they're just expirings anyway) and MIA could take the one we trade. Preferably we'd part with Lue since AJ is the starter.
I could actually see NJN do it. Trade Carter who is known to complain his way out of rebuilding situations for a low post scorer. Jefferson / Randolph / Sean Williams / Boone / Krstic would make as good of a front court rotation as anyone in the NBA. Their backcourt would leave a LOT to be desired, but if they have a nice trading chip in Kidd and a high 1st next year to fix those issues. Not sure if they'd be willing to drop solid citizen Carter for one of the biggest thugs in the NBA though.
Can't really see this from either NYK or MIA though. MIA trades some serious cap flexibility for, well, nothing. Q hasn't done anything since his back has really become a problem. Not a bad player, but not a centerpiece of a deal either.
NYK lose their entire frontcourt without getting anything to replace them. Not good. NYK has too many ticket holders to do that.
