San Antonio is doing everything they can to keep up with the other West teams that are making moves.

They've signed Damon Stoudamire and now they got Kurt Thomas. I think with those 2 acquisitions, San Antonio is back in contention.

Very nice pickup for SA, the Majic really missed out though.

I dont see the logic in San Antonio trading for Kurt Thomas. They gave up a great shooter in Barry and a very active and much younger big man in Elson. It couldnt be a money issue because all the players are fre agents this summer but the Spurs gave up a first round pick that may come in handy as this older team moves on and the big three's contracts eat up the majority of the cap space.

Thomas doesnt do anything more than Elson and Elson already has the chemistry and playoff experience and more years of sservice under his belt. Maybe a trade and waive senerio and both re-sign with Spurs right before playoffs

Anyone hear anything of Barry getting bought out? I wouldn't be surprised to see him playing with the Spurs in 30 days.

So, Happi, who are you rooting for to fall in the draft, now?

A nice tweak to the roster that fills a need for the spurs, similar to the Korver trade for the Jazz.

My earlier proclamation will ill-judged as it's a 2009 1st rounder of course. I need to up my 09 scouting game, J, to see who might work.

I read on Real.gm something about the Sonics buying out Barry and the Suns targeting him. Don't know about the story's validity though...

surprising to see the spurs make a significant trade, but this is definitely a very good move for them

there better off without artest.

if the 1st rounder was this year, sonics could get around pick #22 which would of been a sweet deal. but its 2009

Oberto hasnt been doin that bad but elson has been terrible and it not a big suprise that he has been shipped out.

Kurt adds toughness alongside oberto's finesse which should be a good tandem of bigs.

Elson is quick and athletic but dosent really have any skills to be anythin but a backup and he has been very poor this season.

Barry is a great 3pt shooter but he is really in his decline but still a bit of suprise he has gone, but the sonics loved him the last time he was there and i guess they will love him again.

kurt thomas is 6'9''.  tim duncan is 6'11''.  so is duncan going to stop masquerading as a PF now?

also, Popovich better stop his crying about the Lakers trade now.  Presti and Carlisimo, former Spurs, gift wrapped Kurt Thomas for him.  no more tears, Popovich.

Flacco kind of is a bum..Yeah I get that he isn't that good..
