The Clippers have waived PG Sam Cassell.  Many playoff teams are interested in him although it is believed that he will sign with the Celtics as soon as he can.

Celtics have to sign him today because if they don't, Cassell can't play in playoffs. I believe they have to sign him 48 hours before March 1st(saturday). Basically before midnight today I would assume??

Cassell cannot sign with another team until 48 hours (2 days) after he was waived.

it's the waiving that has to occur before march first, not the signing.

Still not rooting for Boston (sorry Celtic fans, no offense but I like to stay with my pre-season picks ), but will be cheering for my man SamIam. Great signing for Boston (assuming he ends up there)

I still can't believe the Clips couldn't get at least a couple of 2nd round picks for Sam.  Baylor blew this one.  We got nothing in return.  There had to have been at least one decent offer before the trade deadline....

That's because Sam had a 6 million expiring deal, and the Celts have NO trading pieces because of the Big 3. They could send them Scalabrine and Eddie House, lol. Not.

If the Celts land PJ Brown and Sam Cassell...bah, arguably the 2 best veterans left out there (in the FA market or buyout limbo) are theirs.

thats correct.

as good as rondos been, he suits coming off the bench and house playing the 2 guard, remember rondo is only a sophmore.
