McDyess is the better player but Maxiell has the better potential. Who should (not will) get more minutes? Maxiell can be so good, I just hope he doesn't turn into a Darko and get buried on the bench, which inevitably will happen to Amir Johnson. It's such a shame. Now maybe with Ben gone, Maxiell will get more minutes. What is better for the team, playing the better player or developing a young player into a star? That may sacrifice some wins though. Are we as fans willing to take that risk?

Just give Maxiell some time hes not exactly in the running for rookie of the year just let him ride the bench a little bit & work with him during the season

Maxiell is a MAN! Loved his agression towards the rim tonight. First time I really got to look at him. Made Dumars look like a genius again! Hope he gets serious minutes this season.

he probably will with Cato not comin back and big ben gone, Maxiell is like a smaller ben wallace he so strong and aggresive and a good rebounder he should be in the rotation this year. Look like Dumars did another good pick and even amir looked good in patches, struggled defensivly

McDyess without a doubt. McDyess can take it inside and out. He also plays with energy that is needed on court. Now that Big Ben is gone you need McDyess' energy on the court. Max will have his chance. You can't go wrong with McDyess right now. As a matter of fact I think the Pistons will have a good year.

I'd like to see both of them on the floor. cutting Sheed's minutes can't be too bad of a thing. it's not like he's consistent anymore.
Maxiell is potentially the future of the Piston's front court givin the right mentoring. I'm definetely for more Maxiell. he reminds me of a slightly shorter Elton Brand.

maxiell was a beast yesterday if anyone saw the game, he dominated and looked like a cross between wallace and barkley, so strong for someone very undersized

true, but just like johnson there are too many good veteran post players ahead of him in detroit for him to do anything meaningful
