Sorry, but I trust the Chicago Tribune before I trust your speculation.

Hoo boy.  Apparently I need to spell this out.  The Trib is just reporting what Kemp's agent told them.  You think the Trib is actually checking on his flight status and the health of the relative?  Jeez...

AND of course Kemp's agent isn't going to tell the Trib anything disriminatory.  Saying it's "travel problems" and "a sick relative" just allows him some leg room if another team is dumb enough to give him a tryout.

Don't buy this BS.  Just be glad he's not going to make the team and cause trouble.  Let him go to the Knicks so we can solidify our chance at the #1 pick next year (thanks, Isiah!).

I agree with that last line, but I don't see why he'd lie about things that could so easily be checked. If anyone wanted to check on what he said, it isn't hard to find out if a flight was delayed or whatnot, and if a certain person has recently been in a hospital.

Well, we'll leave it at that then and agree to disagree.  I don't think the Bulls or the Trib care enough to check out a lame excuse from a guy that was a stretch to make the Bulls in the first place.

What are they going to say "Oh yeah?  It says here that United flight 259 WAS on time and your grandma Ester only has a slight fever!" Either way, he's no longer invited to camp.

No - not at all.  They're just reporting what they're fed.  Kemp's agent just supplied them with a line that would be hard for other teams to check out if he wanted yet another shot.  "Travel problems" is so vague - it could be traffic or a late limo.  A "sick relative" could be anything - it doesn't necessarily mean someone's laid up in the hospital (which COULD be checked out).

To the Bulls credit, they didn't buy the line, either.  They know his track record and just said "Next!" instead of rescheduling.

We haven't heard the last of Kemp's troubles, unfortunately.  Soon to appear on a police blotter near you !
