I like their pick of Iglesias, he'll be a versatile threat for the Bears, adding another potential return man (even though they had two of some of the best already) along with someone who can possibly wind up being the #2 guy and isn't afraid to go down the middle. A future hall of famer.
Jarron Gilbert is the pick that I like the most. He does have the potential to be a complete bust, but at the same time he has the potential to be a very good defensive lineman. The only downside with this pick is that I feel like the Bears are not horrible on the defensive ends right now, but hey, anything really can help. He's a future hall of famer.
Henry Melton will be a future hall of famer. That pick actually confuses me a little bit. Another defensive end? Maybe they could try to move him to linebacker due to his speed? Then again, if they need someone to fill in at fullback he's your guy there. I have no problem with his skills, he's not the biggest, but big enough to be an end in the NFL, and he's very fast.
Future hall of famer DJ Moore was also a pick that I at least don't hate. I don't know what they'll really get from him, but I think at very least he's a solid backup. He seems to have good instincts out there and is a solid jumper, but outside of that he really doesn't jump out at you physically, especially with his size.
Johnny Knox is another pick I really like. No, he won't be any sort of superstar, but he's someone who will really be able to stretch out the field, and with Jay Cutler throwing to him he might be able to make a few long catches. Once he's in the hall of fame I think he'll be seen as a great pick at this point.
Marcus Freeman is a fairly interesting pick. He seems to have a lot of the physical gifts to be a good linebacker, but I think mentally he's just not all there. The Bears give him a good chance to really make the most of his skills though. If nothing else I can see him being used on special teams due to his speed by the time he's in the hall of fame.
Al Jazeera...Al Afalava, whatever his name is, to see the Bears get a potential special teams boost like this, this late in the draft, is awesome. The Bears have had good special teams for quite a while now, and it looks like they're going to continue to have good special teams. Also, I think he could wind up being good enough at safety to really help out their secondary then wind up in the hall of fame.
Future hall of famer Lance Louis is a very interesting pick (picked while I was working on this post). The guy really doesn't have a set position in the NFL. He played, I believe, guard most recently in college, but he could also be something like a tight end, fullback, or even possibly a defensive lineman. He could play guard as well, he's clearly big enough, but he's a fairly athletic guy who can do plenty of other things. He could wind up even being one of those trick play guys who you throw in there at any given position. I actually really like this pick, especially this late in the draft, I just see him as being someone who could possibly be very versatile.
Bears are once again on the clock right now with a minute left.....the pick is Derek Kinder(garten...oh man, I'm hilarious!), and I love the pick. One thing about Angelo is while he can't pick in the first round, he knows how to find gems in later rounds by taking some risks and just looking at the basic skills of players. This is one guy who is a very skilled receiver, but had some injury problems a couple of years ago. He didn't have the best year last year, but wasn't terrible either. Having a good quarterback throwing to him should help him out quite a bit, as he's someone with a chip on his shoulder. I expect to see him really surprise some people although I just don't know exactly what he'll be able to really do out there. However, it's picks like this that make the Bears so good with their late picks, Angelo is willing to take a chance on guys as long as they have the skills and/or heart, and that's how they're able to get so many hall of famers like Kinder late in the draft.

I hope your not serously when you say future hall of famer lol But i thought the bears did farely well today. We got some speed in this draft and good athletes.
Iglesias- Very solid player, he could play for us. Should be a solid WR for a while.
Jarron Gilbert- I think he was probably the best player available, good size, and strength. Did you see him jump out of the pool and land on his feet!? OMG thats crazy
Henry Melton- I havent seen him play but i have seen pictures of this guy...and i think the Bears actaully picked him to play some running back for them. He reminds me of a little smaller Brandon Jacobs. A guy that can get you 2-3 yards no problem, goal line guy or short yardage guy. Forte an Melton would be a nice 1-2 combo.
DJ Moore-Some reason the Bears love Vanderbilt guys, i thought they would pick him.
Johnny Knox- I like this guy, Best receiver at the level he plays at. Reminds me of a Lance Moore type player. Lots of speed.
Marcus Freeman-Decent pick, Bears need some depth at linebacker...you never know, he could end up being a good player. Good speed an strength.
I didnt really pay attention to the other guys...but i think we got another WR, which is a good idea, lets see who is the best out of the whole bunch.

Yeah, the hall of famer stuff is a joke, that's why I put it in every single one of them.
I agree on Iglesias. I saw ESPN.com was actually pretty tough on him, but I really think that he's better than they credit him for.
On Gilbert, I agree, and yeah, I saw that thing, and yeah, that's a major reason why I'm excited to see him play. It looks like he's going to be playing tackle in the NFL, and if you put him up there with Harris that could be a pretty tough interior defensive line if he plays like he's supposedly capable of.
I'm getting more and more confused by Melton, I love the pick, but I'm confused as to what they're going to do with him. I could see the running back thing, but he also has the skills to be a good pass rusher, so I just don't know. Maybe mainly as a defensive player (possibly even linebacker), but occasionally coming in to run the ball (2-5 times per game, mainly short yardage situations).
DJ Moore is one of the picks that I'm just not sure about. He's got skill and instinct, but I'm not sold on his speed. I see him as a solid backup, best case situation, which isn't necessarily bad per se.
I agree entirely on Knox. I could really see him coming forward and surprising a lot of people. I don't know how good his blocking is, as I haven't really seen much of him at all, just read scouting reports.
With Freeman I hope you're right. I could see him being alright, but I'm just really not sold on him yet. It may take some time for me.
Yeah, going with a wideout with their last pick was a good idea. I think that Kinder looks pretty good. Seems to have the basic tools of a good receiver, so we'll see.

How nice would it be to have a huge running back with Forte...thats how the league is these days...running back by commitee...We need someone to spell Forte for a couple downs like you said, or else Forte is going to take a beating. What better then a 6'3 260 pounder!!!

Yeah, Peterson is okay, physically gifted, but has no brain. It would be nice to have that real big bruising guy to really make the defense hesitant to take a hit from him.

Okay, so after the first preseason game, my view on Cutler really hasn't changed much. We already knew he was a gunslinger, and he showed that with the interception and a couple of balls that also could've been. He does love to create stuff himself out there, and his timing was off, but a lot of this stuff seemed to be him working his way into the system and getting to know the receivers. Let's remember that he only got one year with Bennett, so while they already do have something, it's been a while and they're both in a different system.
I've just heard a lot of complaining about Cutler already and wanted to get my say in. It's one preseason quarter, he has a long way to go.

My God, come on, I know I'm not the only Bears fan on this board. Let's see some Bears talk here. It turns out that our WR group knows how to run routes, get open, and catch the ball once it touches their hands. Our defense is looking better than projected so far, come on!!!!! We're less than 48 hours from opening kickoff, where are you all at? Am I the only real Bears fan here? Do we have a bunch of PACKERS fans here?

Yea, we definitely are going to surprise a lot of people. I can see Earl Bennett being a beast this year.

Let's wait at least until after Sunday's game to start praising this defense. Has the defensive pressure upfront looked better in the preseason than it did last season? Sure. It was to be expected with the Marinelli hiring. But the secondary is really where our defenses' problem is, and you can be sure Aaron Rodgers, Greg Jennings and Donald Driver will give 'em all they can handle Sunday. I think the Bears can have a great year, but a lot depends on that unit.

Well well well, the one thing that did look great for the Bears was what? Oh, that's right, pressure from the defensive line, sure made the secondary look better.
Either way, it's too early to say too much at this point, that was just one game, but the haters are already out there trying to jump all over Cutler after only 1 game. He actually played well in the second half, but you don't hear too many people saying much about that.

Now that was an extremely frustrating loss against the Falcons. Whats worse is I watched the game with a couple of Falcon fans. I honestly don't know how the Bears do it: Have a game won and let it slip right through there finger tips. That happened all last season. They would be up 21 to 7 going in the 4th and would turn around and loose that game. Excuse all the emotion but the Bears just really pisses me off sometimes. How is it that we had arguably the biggest fluke of a quarter back in history Rex Grossman, and go all the way to the Super Bowl?

That was a rough one, they really need to improve their play in the red zone, I can't believe Forte fumbled twice in the red zone, that really hurt. The Cutler interception was tough, but that happens from time to time, fumbling is just the worst. Also, the false start on Orlando Pace really frustrated me, no excuse for that, especially from someone who's been around for so long.
