Dam it, frickin going to be in second place at the end of today. We should NOT be losing this badly to the KC Royals.

We shoulda done something about our starting pitching. Contreras was pitching like crap until they shelved him. Javy has been patheticly bad since June. Buehrle has been inconsistant all season, and Floyd has not been without his poor outings. Our only reliable pitcher all year has been Danks.

Hey, at least it lasted more than 100 days.

Funny thing, when I went to the Cubs/Sox game at Wrigley earlier this year a bunch of Sox fans were yelling at Cubs fans telling them to enjoy first place while it lasts. Well, looks like the Cubs outlasted the Sox there.

However, this isn't the end, it's not like they can't get back into first place.

They'll both win their respective divisions.  However, the Cubs are more likely to lose their division than the White Sox are.  Minnesota doesn't have the pitching that will sustain them for the rest of the season.  And the Brewers have a much easier schedule left than the Cubs.

Eh, the not having the pitching thing is proven wrong at least once a year. Plus, they're just now bringing Liriano back, so sadly, Minnesota is in good shape. However, the Cubs, after tonight, will still have a lead of at least 5 on the rest of their division (well, lead of five over Milwaukee and possibly up to 6 on St. Louis).

DAM IT! We should have won tonights game. How can we have such bad luck against the A's....they are not even that good of a squad at all this year. I'm really frustrated with this team, we need Linebrink back asap.

Anyone else find it funny that Brandon McCarthy is pitching against Jon Garland tonight?

Hmmm, didn't notice that. However, it is very interesting.

I dread an all-Chicago Series.  I'll leave it at that.  Not because I think the Sox would win, but because Sox fans will be out in force (they'd do to us what Yankee fans used to do to Boston fans).

I've heard of him.

They're not expecting him to hit that many homers as a rookie, but eventually, as he gets older. He's only 19, but he's been playing pro ball in Cuba since he was 15, was an All-Star at 16. Plays third base and the outfield, and can even pitch in a pinch. He reportedly has a 90mph heater. But I also heard his conditioning is poor, that he's ballooned to around 240 after being about 195 a season and a half ago.

I'm hoping they can sign and develop him as the potential 3b of the future, and let Josh Fields start this season.

I'm liking what I'm seeing from the Sox' young talent thus far in ST. Beckham, Viciedo and Allen all look they have pro-ready bats. Getz and Nix both look solid at 2b. Marquez had a solid outing (2 scoreless innings, 2ks) vs the Cubs.
