Looks like he's going to go back to the Clippers alongside Baron Davis, making for a pretty scary duo right there along with guys like Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, and Al Thornton. Even though they're almost surely losing Maggette I think the Clippers could be a scary team next year.

It's one thing for Dennis Rodman to play for the Bulls because he was a big-time player.  It's quite another thing for a dirty player like Posey who comes off the bench to play for us.  N-O.

I disagree.  Eric Gordon and Thornton will not have developed enough for them to compete.  Also, Baron Davis and Elton Brand are injury-prone.  If one of them gets injured, they are done.  But even if they stay healthy, I see them as being a very good team that won't make the playoffs.  Basically, they'll be the Warriors of this past season.

Brand has had one major injury his whole career, the only problem being that it was recent and for almost the whole year. That doesn't make him injury prone though. Baron Davis hasn't missed significant time in quite a while either. I'd say either one of them are pretty safe bets to stay healthy for the whole year.

As for Thornton and Gordon, Thornton averaged about 16 points per game in the last 25 games of the year. He also averaged more than 5.6 boards per game in that span. If it were over a shorter span I'd agree with you, but this was over a solid stretch of games. He was still inconsistent in that stretch, but that'll improve with time as it does for every other player. He seems to be ready right now to be a very good 3 in the league. I don't see how you can really say that he isn't developed enough to compete when he put up 12.7 and 4.5 while shooting 43% while only a rookie. For Gordon, it's impossible to say for sure, as he's yet to play a single NBA game, but remember that Ben Gordon came into the league with a very similar skillset but without the same size and he had himself a very good rookie season. I don't see any way that Gordon isn't ready to compete when he comes in, but I guess we'll have to see with him.

Only knock LAC will have is their bench

I agree completely. That's also the knock people had on Boston before the season started, and while the Clippers have nowhere near the core Boston has, but Boston was able to build a decent bench as the offseason went on and really strengthen it as they went through the season.

Yeah that's true... It's role players out there who u can find 2 shoot and rebound. Actually I really hope this kid Marcus Williams they have shows what he has this Summer cause I've been followin dude for years and I know for a fact he can be a legit baller in the NBA.

But Green u wouldn't take Posey on the squad? PSHHHHHHHHHHH

lol yea green, i was joking, laugh about it a little bit lol Posey to me really isnt that good, but what he showed in the Finals this year was probably his best games in years. He is looking for someone to give him big money now in the FA market. Why else would you leave the Celtics?

I think Posey's just trying to be the next Robert Horry.  I bet he's pi$$ed the Spurs are signing Meggette. He seems to have an eye for veteran title contenders so I doubt he'll play for the Bulls.  He'll look at teams like the Hornets, Lakers, Pistons, and maybe Jazz.

Right now the Clippers don't have enough players under contract to even have a bench. Which in combination with GS and Philadelphia looking at Brand makes the Bulls an attractive sign and trade option.

If Brand is interested in coming to Chicago, and the weather isn't that big an issue for every player they aren't babies and he can't hold a grudge against the current leadership who weren't the ones dumb enough to trade him away. The LAC could do well with a combination of Hughes alongside Davis to ease their Gordon into the lineup, Gooden and Thomas to rotate with Thornton up front.

Instead of LAC just losing Brand with nothing in return but cap space for the limited number of FA's they fill out their roster with two veterans and a young player that don't have really long contracts so they can make moves down the road.

I agree with you, but I highly doubt Brand wants to come back, especailly since he has BDiddy now an that he lives in LA,an I doubt that we are actaully trying to get him.

I'm surprised to see a player opting out after having been sidelined for the whole season.
Brand got injured last summer, didn't play an official game since then... He should think twice about his trade  :?

I doubt Posey will stay in Boston.  But I agree that Brand is more likely to stay in LA than leave.
