Anyways, I think the lineup for next season as it stands now should be
PG-Ford SG-Dunleavy SF-Granger PF-Foster C-Hibbert
Might as well keep Foster in the lineup for his defense and rebounding and get Hibbert playing from the start. That way, he'll develop his game faster and with no other true post presence there, he'll be forced to develop a post game quicker. i agree with hibbert he could be the next great big man maybe?

if hibbert was so nice, he wouldnt have dropped so low in the draft.
i dont see how u think some college kid is going to be the answer for the Pacers this season.
Is he the next Dwight Howard? Or Al Jefferson?
Im not seein that. Unless u think he's some sleeper pick. If not, dude is a project. And w/ O'Brians sysyem do u think he really become the Pacers PF/C of the future?
And again Dunleavy is not the SG. Rush & Hibbert shouldny be rushed to become franchise players. Pacer fans cant expect these rookies to lead them to the the 7th/6th seed of the playoffs.

I dont like Dunleavy at the 2 guard. He did well last year at the 3 and played alot of Point Forward. He's too slow to defend at the 2. Granger was moved to the 2 late last season but has played 2/3/4 since he's been here.
When O'Neal was health Murphy did fine as a wandering 5. Outside jumper and cleanup rebounder. W/out a dominant 4, Murphy was asked to be that dude and he was exposed.
A better PG will help, as i said earlier.
W/ Cap room who is going to be on their radar for next year? thats why i want him to be the 6th man.

@Batmon
first off I think that Hibbert was a great pick up. He probably won't be a Howard or Jefferson, but he reminds me of a young Brad Miller with possibly better inside D.
as for targets for next year, if we have cap space (maybe somewhere around 9-10 mil possibly should be more clear after Granger gets an extension and Tinsley is possibly traded) even if there is no cap room the mid-level should be around 6.2 mil next year. most of this list are restricted free agents (more cap the better) and in the order of whom I think would be a good fit.
Jason Maxiell David Lee Chris Wilcox (unrestricted) Charlie Villanueva Sean May Brandon Bass Drew Gooden (unrestricted) Leon Powe Channing Frye
I also think the reason why they are shopping Tinsley so heavily for a PF is because cap room will be a big IF next season.

Which is why I still think Bird should try to move Dunleavy now. He had a great season last year, but his value is never going to be higher than it is now and he isn't the long-term solution. And a few years down the road, u don't want to be paying a starters salary to a bench player. Plus people say Rush isn't going to be a very good defender right way, which is true. But why not let him learn the hard way from the get-go? They could move Dunleavy for a power forward + and expiring contract (Carl Landry? David Lee?), or cap space and future draft picks. Im willing to trade Dunleavy to a PF but for Carl Laundry and Davide Lee alone? NO, Odom? maybe.

"as long as he consistantly contributes" - that's the big question. There's gonna be a big learning curve for him. He's gonna hit the rookie wall. What do forsee? 17 & 8? 10 & 5? 20 & 10? Really. What do u think dude is going to do? Exceed expectations or become another lumbering big man in the L?

Right now Dunleavy is better than Rush, in O'Brian's System.
Rush is another Rookie who shouldnt be "rushed" to contribute, much less start.
Granger was brough along slowly until Jackson & Artest was traded. And it hurt his development. Even Oneal stated how Danny was rushed into the second option due to trades and injuries.
I dont like when fans want to place draft picks right into the starting lineup and expect to make the Playoffs. There's only a small percentage of young dudes who can take up that responsability.
The Pacers arent at level zero where we need to throw all our "talent" onto the floor and hope for results. The core team has been together for 2 seasons now. The young dudes need to be incorporated slowly and not placed into a position where theyre asked to do more than what they can do. IMO.

U have a rookie w/ an offensively challenged Foster? Foster should only play PF if the Center is a big scorer. plus OBrian system doesnt employ 2 non- scorers at the 4 &5.

What do u think dude is going to do? Exceed expectations or become another lumbering big man in the L? He's had four years in college so it won't be as big of a step for him. He'll probably end up with a double-double at the least, but probably not his rookie year unless he gets major minutes. And there's not alot of expectations for him to exceed anyway

But the Landry deal isn't going to happen now with Artest on board in Houston.
