The Pacers can extend the contract of forward Danny Granger anytime between now and the end of October, and it appears as though he could receive a deal similar to the one the 76ers gave Andre Iguodala, according to The Indianapolis Star.

Granger and Iguodala had somewhat similar numbers last season, and Iguodala got a six-year extension worth $80 million from Philadelphia.

RealGM Note: Pacers GM David Morway told RealGM during the first week of August that they had yet to open up negotiations with Granger.

Granger was 46th in the NBA in season FIC and 'deserved' to make $11.11 million during the 07-08 season. Iguodala was ranked 20th and 'deserved' to make $13.76 million and was 21st during his own third season in the NBA.

At most he should be getting Deng money, not 80 million a season. I'll admit he's a good player and he looks like he's the new face of the franchise but honestly he still has to prove what he can do before he deserves a pricetag like that

Deng money might also be stretching it too. The Pacers should not go any higher than 10 mill a year, unless Granger proves that he is worth more.

5yr somewhere in the $11-12M range sounds about right.  what makes it hard is that other teams might have overpaid to keep their players, iguodala, deng, ellis, bogut, so the market price for granger will go up automatically because thats the market granger falls in as well.
