Kevin Garnett 10 years ago, Kevin Garnett now, and Kevin Garnett probably 10 years from now. He's just always had a better skill set, more talented player

Tim Duncan. His numbers haven't been as impressive as Garnett's lately but he's a better defender, has a better understanding of the game, is more of a leader and has had big games when it has mattered.

Still Garnett is a better passer.

KG no doubt... If he is in hall of fame talks and all star games and everything else that he is talked about in and basically playing as a one man team for his whole career, think about what he can/could of done with a supporting cast like Duncan has had. KG is a class act and the most loyal player in this game which has hurt his chances of getting a ship. But imagine a team of: C Duncan PF KG SF Bowen or whoever SG Ginobli PG Parker
Now that would be scary!!!

garnett - 0 championships
Has been to the playoffs eight times, has only advanced out of the first round once.
Has missed the playoffs 2 times.
Duncan has the rings.

Kevin Garnett 10 years ago, Kevin Garnett now, and Kevin Garnett probably 10 years from now. He's just always had a better skill set, more talented player And people will still pick Duncan because of the rings... how long before people realize teams win championships, not players? Garnett's front office ****ed him over when they violated NBA rules to get Joe Smith, and lost all those first-round draft picks because of it. So they wasted the prime of his career. That's not Garnett's fault.

Let's see KG got to the WCF with Cassell and Spree and Duncan won with Ginobli and Parker and Robinson in 99 hmmmm i wonder who has the better team. Give KG anywhere close to that and there will be championships to come year after year.

i'd say they are dead even, both great at different things, you trade them for each other duncans rookie year and garnett would have duncan's success and duncan would have garnett's

I don't know what some of you are talking about with Garnett not drawing double and triple teams, have any of you seen a single Timberwolves game over the past 3 years? Amazing how ignorant those statements are.
Anyway, Garnett is the better player. He won't get quite as many blocks, but he'll get a solid amount, Garnett will get more steals though. They are about equal on scoring ability, although Garnett is better right now and a better jump shooter while Duncan is a little more solid in the post, but not a whole lot more. As far as rebounding goes, Garnett is better right now, and Garnett is the better passer as well, but not by a whole lot. Throw how much more athletic Garnett is and how much more energy he brings, and its pretty clear that, although not by a whole lot, Garnett is the better player.

"you don't see kg drawing as much double and triple teams as duncan or shaq does" if you know anythin about the playin the game, you'd know that. dominant post players have a bigger impact. as for who the better player is, ask any gm or expert and sse who they pick

The amount of double teams a play attracts is not directly proportionate to how productive he is on offense. KG makes most of his moves with quick turns, fadeaways and drives. Duncan does that too but he simply backs up to the rim more since he's stronger. This way there's more time for the double team to arrive. Once the double team arrives, it's also easier to stop a posted up player from scoring by trapping him than a player on the move. This is why teams try to get the ball to their big guy even if he is struggling with his shot. It triggers ball movement, which is something the Spurs are very good at and the Wolves not so good at.
