The Pistons have acquired All-Star guard Allen Iverson from the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess and Cheikh Samb.  ESPN has reported that the Nuggets may buy out McDyess' contract (hopefully the Pistons can get him back).  Iverson is now in his 13th season and comes to the Pistons with averages of 27.7 ppg, 6.3 apg and 2.3 spg.  McDyess spent four seasons with the Pistons and averaged approximately 8 ppg and 8 rpg during that time.  Billups was the Finals MVP in 2004 and spent six seasons in Detroit.  Samb was a rookie last season who spent the majority of the season in the D-League.

Wow! Dumars has been talking about making a move, and a move he made.  Iverson's contract expires at the end of the year, so they will cap room aplenty.  I like the fact that this trade frees of minutes for Maxiell and Johnson; but it limits the minutes of phenom Rodney Stuckey, as Iverson plays just about every second of every game.  The verdict will be out for a while on this one.  But, other than the Darko pick, every move Dumars has made has been excellent, and I trust his judgement.
