The Bulls haven't made any more or worse mistakes than other teams

If they've made better moves than most teams, explain the Bulls remarkably high draft position in each of the last 10 years.

1999 - 1st
2000 - 4th
2001 - 4th
2002 - 2nd
2004 - 3rd
2006 - 2nd
2008 - 1st

Remember that in 2006 that 2nd pick was one they got from the Knicks in the Eddy Curry trade. Then notice that there's a gap there between 2004 and 2008, and they didn't have a whole lot of talent before that 2004 draft. Don't forget about the Jay Williams accident either, that hurt them quite a bit, in fact, they wouldn't have had as high of a pick in 2004 if it wasn't for that.

Atleast the Bulls made a good deal with the Knicks. Didn't they also swap picks with them in 2007? Can't complain about that.

But it is alittle weird that the Bulls have had so much love in the last 10 years. I doubt many teams would have had that many high picks while being considered contenders for a number of seasons during that time.

Yes, they swapped picks that year, and the Bulls picked Joakim Noah (which I strongly disagreed with at the time, and I have warmed up to it since, but I'd still rather they had picked Hawes), and the Knicks picked Wilson Chandler with what would've been the Bulls pick. Also remember that the Bulls were at the 9 position when they got that #1 pick in 2008. However, they were still pretty poor.

WIth all the bad moves they've made at least they've made a few good ones.

Trades with knicks,
dumping wallace,

and the only one that redeems anything...

Drafting rose over beasley.

Zander you forgot 2003- 7th. oh by the way, it is the lottery picks! i thought you knew.its not like when they traded brand, to the clippers, and clippers said we will be getting the 2 pick next season it's yours, it does not work that way, for example this yearin 2008 draft, wasnt all the hype on the knicks and heat, about the #1 pick, nobody really ever thougt that the bulls would land #1, but again it's a lottery!!!!

C'mon green, Aldridge-for-Thomas WAS a horrible Bulls decision. How much time do you want to give Thomas? As always it came out that 'potential' is the most overrated virtue of a player out of the draft.

Thomas is all 'potential' and athleticism. No basketball IQ, no court smarts, no gain of vet savvy. So what he can jump higher than the rest? Without the brains he'll be jumping up and down and a guy like Aldridge will still take the rebound from him because of better positioning. Wink

Yes, he has glimpses of greatness. He rarely can put up a complete stat-line... and when he does, it's really great. But that's not nearly enough. That's what Randy Foye does, and the Foye/Roy debate is as over as the Aldridge/Thomas debate. Seriously, just admit it.

If you imagine LaMarcus Aldridge as the Bulls starting PF you are playoff bound and easily top-4 in the East. I had a hunch about Thomas high bust chances when the draft rolled around and I wasn't wrong. He still looks like a deer in the headlights when out there.

Prior to drafting Rose I saw an organization throwing darts at a board hoping to hit a star. And there luck was bad. I feel the biggest problem with this team is that most of them are lazy and careless about improving. They went from college kids to millionares and that for many of them is enough. So I will judge the organization from this season forward. How many years did it take the Lakers to go from Magic to Kobe, And the Jazz from Stockton/Malone to Williams/Boozer ? Rebuilding a team is hard. Unless you just trade for players like the celtics. Which the Bulls don't have the talent to make such a trade. So all the past moves before Rose I will caulk up as looking for a star in a galaxy of mediacrity. The only move I will hold Paxson and Reinsdorf accountable for is the re-signing of Deng. Which happened post Derrick Rose. That was dumb. The only good is if his huge contract brings us another player via trade. And could you guys quit with the Aldridge/Thomas posts. Yes, Tyrus does suck. But Aldridge last I checked has not made an All-Star team. And isn't really a Star either. So just give them 3 years and if we don't have a contender then they deserve all the negatives we could type.

Well first off... maybe you should research slightly before you throw up some bs on our draft picks.

our 2002 jay williams got into a motorcycle accident after 1 season that cost him his career. I dare say he would of been fairly good given the time to adjust to the nba game.
And I believe our 2006 pick was New yorks pick, that we got from the the eddy curry trade.

If Williams had not been  hurt in that accident you might be looking at a totally different bulls team today.

So rather than suggesting that the Bulls did a poor job drafting and trading, people are suggesting that the injury to Jay Williams has been the Bulls' downfall.

We understand you are still upset at the blazers management for taking bowie over jordan.  Why are you so obsessed with putting the bulls down?  every post you have something negative to say.  As a blazer fan stay on the blazer forum we do not care about your insight.

You joined today what the hell are you talking about?

You, like most Bulls fans(I won't generalize like you did) take offense to EVERYTHING. Everytime someone disagrees or makes a point differing from your opinion, they're automatically a hater. You must have some kind of sickening disease that makes you a grumpy *** all the time.

He's not talking trash though, he's making relevant points in a thread....?

Talking trash would be:

"Bulls totally suck they're horrible I hate them"

Don't think he ever said that...he listed there recent draft picks?

And I never said you were hating I said Bulls fans label everyone else that doesn't love there teams as a hater...reading my post correctly might have benefitted you here.

And there you go again telling people what forums to go to...good internet tough guy image buddy. I'm scared.

This is a message board and people are allowed to post wherever they want in whatever thread they want...if they are't spamming/flaming then get off your high horse and learn to have a discussion.

THIS IS MY POINT

Don't go running your mouth about teams that you have no clue about.

"2006 that 2nd pick was one they got from the Knicks in the Eddy Curry trade. Thank you mild sauce for REAL facts and insight, instead of opinions.
