So it looks like the Democrats have taken the house back and have greatly evened the senate. While I don't like the Democrats much, I just plain flat out hate the Republicans, so I see this as a step in the right direction. Just curious as to what everyone else thinks about that, and any general thoughts on the election.

I still don't feel how this is going to change anything.  Theoretically it would, but the Democratic has so many problems that they refuse to address that it doesn't leave me much hope that anything will be accomplished.

While I agree with most Republican foreign policy, I believe that a Democractic house will greatly benefit us in our many domestic issues.  Too much power (for anyone) is a bad thing.  This nation was founded on a system of checks and balances (which we have lacked for too long).

i only hope ya'll have a democratic president. When you had Clinton, view of America in the world was far much better. People outside US hate Busch, and they are starting to hate USA aswell, because you had chosen him.

maybe i wrote something what could be misunderstood. I don't hate Americans. i've been in USA for nearly year and i like your country and your people. I think American society has very much to offer, and has a great potential. I just think that very few USA citizens reach their potential.
i had oppourtunity to finish HS i USA, and, in my opinion, your education system is one of the reasons why vision of america in us is bad.
If more people in Your country would realise what really was war with Saddam, and how would world response, noone would give Busch chance to do so, i think.
It's generally bad viewed that USA has two standards in Intl diplomacy - what can usa do, others, except maybe russia and chinca, can't.
you should learn more about foreign countries in HS, get to know at least most important dates from european history, and most of all - your Schools schould teach you to think by yourself.

ah, it's hard to write your toughts after over 3 years not using english language.

ah, typical HS schedule (we have 6 year grade school, then 3 year gymnasium, then 3-year HS, after which about 50-60% students go to study)
8-9 lessons a day, (one lesson - 45 minutes)
2 foreign languages (english + other), at least 5h/week
about 8 hours of mathematics per week
3 h pw of phisics
6-7 of polish

3h of history
3h chemistry
2h geography
3-4h biology
4h of sports
2h of computer technology
2h of art
2h of technic
1h of buisness
and some others i don't remember. some courses last for 2 years.

As far as the Democrat's troubles go, they pale in comparison to the problems that the Republican party has, which aren't limited to just the whole Iraq disaster, touching little boys while at the same time denouncing homosexuality in the name of morals, and just plain flat out running this country into the ground. Neither party is perfect, and to be honest, I don't care for either at all, because they're all politicians and are therefore all about self interest. The only one in either party that I can really stand is Obama, mainly because he hasn't been a politician for long.

As for voting Bush into office, the majority of the country that can vote didn't even come close to voting Bush in. I myself voted for Kerry in that I thought it was the best way to get Bush out of office for the time being, but it didn't work, because you have all of those idiots out there who don't vote because they think their vote doesn't count. However, that is the reason Bush was able to get back into office more than any other. They didn't like Kerry, and therefore wouldn't vote because they didn't wanna vote for him, thinking that we can totally change things around overnight. Its just pure ignorance on the part of those people.

similar situation in poland. people didn't go to voting and we have a worst governament in years, componed from 3 parties:
- LPR - which prefer national-socialism,
- PiS - which is lead by twins, one of them is a president, second - premier. And it's hard to recognize who is who. They don't do anything good, but they seek foes inside country, and they're supporting catholic church and trying to dominate our life wth religin
- Samoobrona - national-socialism, populism etc.
