The Bulls fined Tyrus Thomas, Larry Hughes and Joakim Noah Tuesday for conduct detrimental to the team.
The three were apparently not happy when Vinny Del Negro reminded the team of a rule that prohibits pregame eating in the locker room, and were fined for inappropriate language or for being disrespectful to the coach. Thomas has seen his minutes cut over the last two games, and there's a decent chance that this is the reason why. You can't eat in the locker room? Seriously?

Bulls / Bills / Marlins / Noles ben gordon was a guy he trusted and always passed to when he was open. those other guys are not the kind of shooters i'm talking about, they are more mid range guys. how many times did we see rose get hinrich, deng or salmons a wide open shot and those guys would pump fake then try to step in to get a better shot and end up passing up a wide open 3 for a contested 20 footer? they are not the kind of guy's rose needs. i said when he was drafted that deng and hinrich had to go and

It happens on most teams but when a team is losing it just makes these little things worse

I think they were fined more for swearing at their coach then eating in the locker room.

why would professional athletes be yelling at their coach? I bet noah, hughes, and thomas are racist. There must be a moron symbol for you to use or you want to go with that and make yourself look like an imbecile. You yell at your boss, maybe swear at him you're lucky to get fined and not fired in most jobs. For Noah and Thomas it's another sign of immaturity, so all of you who think they're the future, wise up. For Hughes it's another act of insubordination and why he needs to go if he is having any influence on the younger players on how to be a part of the team. Vinny hasn't called out any player publicly for a lousy effort or just not knowing what they're doing so some take it that he's soft and they try to take advantage. Well they found out he's not soft, he wants to win and if you can't follow a few simple rules and don't appreciate not being embarassed in the press here's what you get.

Larry Hughes has no influence on Derrick Rose. Believe that! He is just the only piece of garbage the Bulls could get for Wallace. Now, Thomas and Noah? Don't know what to say? They are young and hardly living up to being drafted where they were, exspecially Tyrus. I don't see either of them becoming great players. Even after they grow up. Tyrus's ceiling is like stromile swift or Antonio Mc D . And Noah is even lower. So why not just trade them away. Well most teams don't want the Bulls players, So we may have to be stuck with them. Or trade someone that other teams want and use one of them as fillers. But Hughes we may be stuck with. I wish they would just start fresh and keep those listed below only.
1. Derrick Rose 2. Loul Deng 3. Thabo Sefolosha 4. Andres Nocioni 5. Aaron Gary
The only name in ink is the first one. The rest have been penciled in. And those not mentioned can go. ASAP... PACMAN.
1984 Chicago Bulls roster... Will we look back at the 2008 Chicago Bulls and remember as many names ?

HoopsWorld's take on the fining: How To Lose Friends And Alienate Players
Every once in a while you run across a story that makes your jaw drop. This is one of those.
There's a story in the Chicago media today about head coach Vinny Del Negro fining three players for eating in the locker room before a recent home game. HOOPSWORLD has learned that the number of players fined was actually five, but whether it was five or three, this story keeps getting wierder.
We're talking about a team that provides food (at least a fruit tray) to the visitor's locker room before each game and makes food available to their own players as well. It's also a team that has never had an issue with players eating before a game, even at their lockers. Ben Gordon has often taken ribbing for his habit of making - not just eating, but actually whipping out condiments, constructing, and eating - peanut butter sandwiches in his locker before games.
So all of a sudden Del Negro decides to not only go off on a group of players, but also fine them for eating in the locker room before a game. Fines were less than a thousand dollars each, but still it's a strange way to make a point.
It seems to be par for the course for Vinny Del Negro, however, who is going to great lengths to try and establish his authority in the locker room. Given that he's failed to do it in any traditional way, he beginning to do it in ways that make him seem small and petty.
In case you're wondering why it's a bad idea to hand an inexperienced coach the head chair for an NBA franchise, you're starting to see it in Chicago. Del Negro got the job despite his complete lack of experience coaching at any level, and the Bulls are now bearing the brunt of the consequences for that decision.
This is a team that fired Scott Skiles at about this time last season because his shrill, power-hungry ways were alienating players. Now it seems they replaced him with someone equally as shrill. It would be almost impossible for the Bulls to fire him this season without becoming even more of a laughing stock in NBA circles, but don't be surprised if he's one of the first ones picked off next season.
Things are going to get really ugly in Chicago, and that's not a good situation for a team with so many young players seeking identities and veterans who will be walking away as free agents this summer. Bulls have lost their last 2; 5 of their last 6. Effort has been lacking, the team looking like they aren't ready to play at all. Locker room fissures are appearing again with Noah and Nocioni barking at each other in the midst of last night's game. Hughes whining about playing time. 2 starters injured. 5 games under .500. Del Negro looked okay early, but is he losing the team? Is he any better than Boylan right now?

If they are fined whatever the matter, eating in the locker-room, or yelling at their boss, it seems perfect to me.
Please, Noah and Thomas?? Who the hell they believe they are???. I am very surprised that these two guys, who are playing the way they are playing /(pathetic) can be so disrespectful to the team and organization rules. They should put their efforts in improving their games and begin earning the money they are paid.
It would be better to the team if they show this kind of agressiveness in the court against the rivals.

I remember the old days and that roster was partly guys who just sucked Whatley, Matthews, Engler, part that had one skill like rebounding, defense or dunking and could do little else both Jones', Oldham, Woolridge or guys who had all around skills but weren't very good at anything Higgins, Johnson, Green and Greenwood. Corzine was the one role player. And you're spot on, they need to start trading the knucleheads Noah, Thomas and Hughes immediately, then see where they stand in the draft, see what free agents can be had this summer and when next season starts if more trades are needed start swapping. I also agree on the five to build next year around but I'm willing to add Hinrich. Everyone wants to trade his contract and then get a backup point guard and a combo guard. I like the fact that Rose says that Kirk sends him texts and talks to him about opponents. That's the caliber of player I want on the team, maybe he makes too much but maybe you pay to not have a problem player. And where that starts for 09 depends first on what this year's trades bring, who they draft and who they sign. Gooden probably wants more than he makes now but he isn't worth it for a team needing a 4 in the post. Gordon is the sign and trade guy, they don't have to get much for him but he is awful handling the ball and playing defense so with a team that plays better defense and moves the ball better on offense you can offset that loss of PPG. I think this is a turning point in the season and Paxson has to pull the trigger on at least two trades. I beleive that the all the injuries are what are holding up the deals, waiting for Hinrich to return before trading Hughes and either Noah or Thomas but with Sefelosha playing well of late I would take the risk of making the deal and using him much more and even Cedric Simmons got his uniform sweaty of late so he could get some minutes. But this cannot continue and get worse and the Bulls have enough veterans on their staff to know that.
