2004-05 Stoudemire was certainly better than Howard.

Amare just had 25 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 blocks last night, so I think he can become better than dwight, but he is too inconsistent right now. Especially after that goose egg he had the game before that. Hopefully his dominance and fearlessness will recover fully.

2004-05 Stoudemire was certainly better than Howard. This is 2006-07. Point being that Amare's already had a better year than any that Howard's had yet. The question of which one you'd rather have partly depends on whether or not you think Stoudemire's ever going to get to 100% again (and it looks like if he's not there now, he'll be there shortly).

Howard. Amare's career has been shortened by microfracture surgery.
and yes, Amare did have an incredible season a couple years ago. but he also had Steve Nash, Dwight doesn't have a player of that calibur with him. Nelson has the potential to be very talented at the PG position, but he's not there yet.
Dwight Howard gets my vote.

Right now I'd go with Howard, mainly because Amare, no matter how close he comes, will never be the same as he was before the surgery. Also, like mentioned, the surgery will most likely shorten his career while Howard is younger and hasn't had any career shortening injuries as of yet.

Even if Amare had not gone through his injury, I still would favor Howard. This kid is amazing!
