I would pick Howard...

If Amare were not injured he would be better than Howard right now. But I would still pick Howard because he is only 21 as of a couple of weeks ago. He is in the top three centers in the league, Ming, Howard, and Amare. Give him a year or two and he will be grabbing 14-15 rebounds a game, averaging 25 points a game or more and probably averaging around 2-3 maybe 4 blocks a game. If the magic play their cards right, they are in for quit a few championships with Howard.

I would pick Howard.
Amare just depends from his leaping abilty and athlecism too much and he is a little undersized for C.
Howard is a great athlete too but he is an inch or two taller and I belive that he can be better shooter from midrange, so he will have longer career. Amare will be always injury prone with his style.

They are both great players, good at different things.  For example, Amare is more explosive, and a better scorer and fast-break player.  And Howard is a better rebounder, half-court player (posting players up).  Howard also doesn't have the injury risk.  Having said that, I would go with Howard.

Haha. I've got to stop reading these thread titles and thinking they're current.
