Essendon came up with the "GOODES" on the weekend Unit.
My Kangas were looking good until 2 minutes left in the game against the hawks...

haha yeah i was going for the Roos, to help bombers, but also just felt Roos outplayed them for most of the match.

either adelaide is very underrated or freo is terrible.
im strangely leaning towards Adelaide being very underrated.

well they have won 7 in a row.
Kept Freo to 13, Kangas, 24, and im sure other to low scores.
The commentators speak about Adelaide having a 19th man on the ground at all Times (The Crowd), and i guess it helps them a little bit to always have an overwhelming amount of support.
As for Freo they were missing their 2 best players in Sandilands and Pavlich, they wouldn't of made a winning difference, but im sure they would of atleast scored 30 with those guys in.

bombers would of beaten them though.... if crows didnt score a record 21.4 (130) with 2 of those behinds being rushed behinds.

Round 11:
Essendon    18.6 (114)    Adelaide    21.4 (130)

but yeah gary lyon said they could win the flag earlier in the season, he may be closer then people laughed at.

ESSENDON coach Matthew Knights said the League should consider introducing a new drafting system after tanking again became a talking point over the weekend.

While Knights called tanking "disgraceful” and said he doesn't believe in it, he suggested a lottery-type draft needed to be looked at in order to eliminate the idea it existed among lower ranked teams.

However, he said a lottery draft would have to be structured so the bottom-placed sides had a bigger chance to snare the top selections.

"Following [NBA] basketball's [lottery system], I think there would have to be more favoured odds that the lower teams would get that first or second pick”, he said.

"I probably don't like the certainty of the bottom team definitely getting the first pick in the draft."

he makes a good point.

lol many media icons have already discussed a "Draft Lottery", Knights isn't the first...
I was thinking bout it earlier today, and thought this is right there does need to be a lottery system in place. As for the same think about a Free Agency, but it needs to be modified.

The one thing that makes our great game more appealing to me is that players aren't all about Money, more of them are about being loyal. Do you remeber the Lions of 01-04/05, the best players took pay cuts so they could stay together to make 4 grand final appearances in a row.
Do you agree Unit? there is not loyalty in basketball, that's why i like AFL more.

yeah players staying with 1 club most of there careers, is good for the supporters.
also not having to worrying about buying a jersey and having that player traded.

well you can't really buy players jerseys in the AFL, that's one bad thing about it i guess.
But i prefer AFL atm, after seeing the way the Free Agency has been panning out the last few seasons.

yeah even to lose in the 1st round, sets your team up for next season, you haven't got alot of players around still from when you guys won in 2000, 3 or 4-5...
So they don't know what Finals footy is about, but will come back better for the journey next year.
