So it's confirmed that Rose has been asked if he'd like to compete in the skills challenge, and while there's already a threat in the general NBA section, I'd like to know what fans on this board think of this idea.

Personally, I like it. Rose is quick, a great ball handler, an excellent passer, and can hit an open layup or dunk with ease.

The only thing that worries me is the jump shot. While Rose isn't the best jump shooter, he's proven that he still can hit the open jumper. The fact that he can hit this shot makes me think that it would be a good idea. While his jumper has a way to go, it's not bad. I don't think that this is something that would take more than a few attempts, at worst for him, and even then he isn't totally doomed.

I say he should go for it. Also, another pressure situation for him, to get used to situations like that, although he already looks like he knows how to handle pressure, this would only be another situation for him to deal with it. That kind of experience can be very valuable.

I would like to see him compete.  He'll be there anyway for the rookie game.

I think its great for him and the Chicago Bulls organization. Maybe the players will see the only 1 there on All Star saturday is D Rose lol. If he can hit the jumper in the skills challenge he can win it. An even if he doesnt, and ends up losing, i would love to see him throw down a huge dunk at the end. Maybe get in the Dunk Contest next year haha A ton of people will be able to see our star and thats always good.

I think he should compete in the skills competition.  I'm still holding out hope, though, that Stern will add him to the main all-star roster.

I think that it would be a great way for Rose to start getting respect--and ultimately calls from the refs in this league.  THis will be a great asset in late game situations.
