I never quite understood how people outside of England can have a strong rooting interest for any team in the EPL.  I enjoy greatly watching the soccer in that league and I'll root for Americans who play there, but for the most part, I can't work up the proper emotional connection to actually care about any of the teams to actually claim them as my own.

At the moment, I think the Engligh Premier League is better but I really just like watching soccer being played at it's highest level (which is why I have trouble actively following MLS, it's like following a AA baseball team).  But I can't really have the emotional attachment that I have to say the Wizards or the Redskins (or the US National team for that matter) because there's just no connection for me.  I mean, I started watching soccer when the U.S. decided to focus more on the sport and pushed to qualify for the '90 World Cup (plus I had started playing a few years prior), so I don't have that moment of "I watched the Arsenal play and it blew me away" and I've always failed to understand how, Americans in general, can be for Arsenal or Man U or Liverpool wholeheartedly (or rather, it just comes across as fake to me).
