Larry Hughes gets zero minutes in Chicago. And it has been widely covered in the media that the Bulls are shopping him hard. Would Washington have an interest and what trades work for you?  |

The way the team is playing Hughes wouldn´t be a factor at all. Chicago would be interested in acquiring a big man, perhaps Etan THomas, but the deal, due to Hughes salary, should be completed with more players.
I have no idea what players could fit well in Chicago to make the deal

Larry Hughes gets zero minutes in Chicago. And it has been widely covered in the media that the Bulls are shopping him hard. Would Washington have an interest and what trades work for you? There was a trade that involved Antonio Daniels and I think Etan Thomas, but then Hughes got hurt and the Wizards took the trade back. So, yeah, probably not going to happen. Still, if the Wizards could've gotten Hughes for what they originally offered him back in 05, he would've been a good addition. |

I would do that. If the Wizards want to take Hughes almost anything would look good. Thomas on one leg would be acceptable, he plays hard and smart and throws his weight around in the lane. Three things the Bulls need in the middle. James really wouldn't get much time, another small guard would give the Bulls 4 of them. But if the deal could be done soon enough James with his expiring deal and another player or two to a team looking for a point guard could give Chicago the option of a second trade.

Mike James has a player option, which means his contract isn't ending until next season. So basically, you'd be trading Larry Hughes for two players just have the same amount of money expiring next season. On top of that, you'd be trading for two players who are worse than Hughes. I'm not sure when the last time you saw Etan Thomas play (and I can assure you it hasn't been in the last month, because no one here in DC has seen him play in that time span), but he's about 6'8" or 6'9", he has terrible hands, he can't score because of his height, and he's a pretty poor rebounder for the exact same reason. He might throw his weight around but it's usually has little to no effect on whatever's happening and he's lost his spot (legitimately) to McGee, Blatche, and Songalia (i.e. he doesn't play anymore with good reason). And then you have Mike James, who is a chucker and is in the process of losing the majority of his minutes to Crittenton (with good reason there too, which is also the only reason, the Wizards took on the Mike James trade). So you're really not getting anything back, if you pick up those two players, except for someone fairly middling contracts that expire at the same time. The Bulls would be better off eating Hughes contract until next season, when they'll be able to make a worthwhile move.

We did a lot for him in return for his efforts in D.C. and he turned around and screwed us (on the first day of free agency)
I wouldn't want him back anyway

Do you not remember that he was set to take the Wizards contract offer (which I think started with $8 million the first year, but I could be wrong) but ended up taking the Cavs offer because Arenas told him to take the money when he can get it? |

It's easier if it were to come down to it to find two trades for 2 $6 million contracts than it is for one $12 contract. And Larry Hughes not only isn't playing he's on the inactive list and not even dressing, having someone who would at least put on the uniform every night for a few minutes of time would be a step up. Mostly what I see is the scores of games and the Wizards coming up short on points. Before Larry talked his way to his folding chair he was able to get up shots and score, so a team short on points seems like a matching destination for him.
