I'm happy for Gooden that he will finally get a chance to win a ring.  But it's a bit bittersweet because I was a bit sad to see him go even though he really had no future with us.  I wish him the best of luck.

Joe Smith going back to Cleveland should certainly help the Cavs at the moment since Ben Wallace is injured.  But does he make them that much better?  I don't think so.

ben gordon was a guy he trusted and always passed to when he was open.  those other guys are not the kind of shooters i'm talking about, they are more mid range guys.  how many times did we see rose get hinrich, deng or salmons a wide open shot and those guys would pump fake then try to step in to get a better shot and end up passing up a wide open 3 for a contested 20 footer? they are not the kind of guy's rose needs.  i said when he was drafted that deng and hinrich had to go and

Its almost better being a free agent pickup...Gooden and Smith went from garbage teams to now potentially being able to win a championship.

Honestly, going down to this. I only see 3 teams winning the title.

Boston
Lakers
Spurs

Because this 3 teams, have shown to win games when they are on the line, and of course the cavs, magic, will give anyone a run for there money. But it all goes down with the experience of finishing games. Unless Lebron really extends himself to the next leve, which at one point it will happened but can it happend in the playoffs? who knows anything is possible.

But in the west anything can happened, let's not forget the jazz.

In my opinion, the recent acquisition of Gooden by the Spurs, make them the main candidate to play the NBA finals. And I state this because the absence of Bynum. If the Lakers center does not recover in time to play the Playoffs, the Lakers will not be able to defeat the Spurs in a seven game series. How the hell Gasol-Odom could fight against a frontcourt with Duncan-Thomas-Oberto-Gooden???
