You didn't think he would sign for cheap, did you? Their is no way they could let Chipper get away. I do agree he signed for way more money than he is worth, but he is the franchise face right now and they couldn't get arid of him.

That's a standard baseball contract first of all, second, he had a great season last year, and third, he is the franchise.

As much as I dislike Chipper (mainly for his stupidass comments about Toronto), here's a guy who is closing in on 500 home runs and has over 1300 RBI's, and is consistently good for over 150 hits a season. He'll be 37 this month so this contract will probably run him until he retires. Seems like a fine move to me.

I'm one of the truest Braves fans their is, I was wanting to re-sign Andruw when LA cut him. I just think it could have been handled differently, and selby I know he's the franchise but he stays hurt too much, though I understand that is really no fault of his own.

I don't think it's that bad of a signing actually. The guy still can swing the bat and can play in the field. Until he actually has a big decline, I say it's a good deal.

With 3 new starting pitchers, and Garret Anderson, it would be embarrassing for the Braves not to make the playoffs.
