The Braves win it 4-1. Our ace Derek Lowe went 8 shutout innings and only gave up 2 hits. The Braves made notice that the NL East is going to be more than a 2 team race. How about rookie CF Jordan Schafer hitting a Home Run in his first at bat!! He wound up 2-3 with the HR, Single, and was also intentionally walked.

I love it when players get home runs or other big hits in their first at-bats. I still remember in the early 90's (1992) when Jim Bullinger (a bullpen pitcher at the time) got an at-bat in a long extra innings Cubs/Cardinals game, his first at-bat ever and hit what would've been the game winning home run if he hadn't given up a run during the bottom half of that inning. It wound up being a 13 inning game, and if I remember right the Bullinger home run came in regulation innings. I found the box score for it:
