I could of did what he did the whole game. The guy is killing me when he defers to Ben Gordon, Salmons - heck the whole team. Why he didn't he score on numerous opportunities?

Immaturity mostly. He is a Pass first point guard. It's like wanting a QB in football to run everytime they get a chance. Basically that's how Derrick sees himself as a QB running an offense. I agree thou that he has to score when giving chances. I have also grown tired on him not just blowing by people like Davis and Perkins. Oh.. And sometime when he settles for a jumper. He needs to learn from PG's like Deron Williams and CP3. That sometimes you have to score to loosen up a defense, that you can Pass.

You could put up 14 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, and a block in an NBA playoff game? Why are you here and not on the court then?

I get what you're saying, but I think you're exaggerating a little bit. We have to remember that he's still a 20 year old kid. I know he raised a lot of expectations with how well he played this year, but remember what we were saying before the season, he's a project and we're going to have to let him grow. These are some of the same things people were saying about him at Memphis though, and in due time he's going to learn when and who to defer to during a game. He's a point guard, so it is his job to facilitate the offense, not just score, but I do agree that at times he needs to take over himself.

this guy has plenty of time to figure it out, and unlike guys like ty thomas has shown the steady improvement, hard work and a good attitude it takes to become a superstar.  he will be there in a couple years, give him some time.
