Out of curiosity, could David Lee be in Chicago's plans? Or would he be too expensive to sign?

Lee is rumored to be looking for $10 mil per. If that's true, I think he's too expensive. Guys like Brandon Bass or Tyler Hansbrough would be much cheaper options and almost as good.

Hansborough? He won't be very good in the NBA I don't think. Bass is okay but he isn't better than Lee, but I do agree that Lee is too expensive for a guy that doesn't play defense.

I'm not saying either is better than Lee, but I think you can get close enough production where it's not worth the extra $7-9 million.

I think Hansbrough could be like Udonis Haslem, who has been close to a double-double guy almost every year.

If im spending money on anybody its going to be a superstar. But i agree with TradeMark, you can find guys that are MUCH MUCH cheaper that can do similiar things just not as good. Thats also why Im in favor of trading Kirk Hinrich away. Theres plenty of guys out there that do similiar things as him...probably 3 or 4 guys in the draft that can do what he does for a quarter of the price that he is making.

I feel that way about Gordon. Give a decent scorer Ben's 16 shots per game and he'll put up 20ppg too.

Thanks for the answer about Lee.
I agree that they should go after Bass in free agency, but they should also take a look at Ike Diogu.
He might be undersized but he has a nice low post game if he can get some minutes.
It would be stupid for the Bulls to pass Hansbrough up at 26. True he might not be a great player in the NBA, but he works hard, has passion for the game and can do all the dirty work.
If the Bulls can get him and Mullens, then I would call it a successful draft.
Even better if they can trade Tyrus Thomas for a pick to choose a shooter/scorer to replace BG if he leaves. Maybe someone like Ellington.

Fair enough...but if your looking long term and investing big money into a guy, i think ill still go with BG.If Gordon is going to stick to his word an not have a problem coming off the bench...he could be a 6th man of the year award winner almost every year if he wants too. And that would be a MAJOR plus to our team. My issues with Hinrich are...injuries,playing time is going to decrease with Rose's growth,2 years older then BG,Game will fall off before BG's will,Numbers have decreased the last 3 years, shot is inconsistant, defense is good not amazing, making to much money. My problems with BG are just bad defense, bad shot selection. Personally i rather play against Hinrich then Gordon...Gordon is a game changer while Hinrich is a very good role player on this team. You give Gordon a legit bigman that can command double teams from time to time and score easy buckets....he will be lethal. Bulls have already tried to trade Hinrich last deadline...i still see them doing the same thing this summer.

what gordon does for this team is so overrated...he hits nice clutch shots here and there, but usually his ball hogging ways are what got us in the position where we needed a big clutch shot to win anyways.  i've seen him hand the other team wins 5x as much as i've seen him win us a game.  hinrich's shot will get more consistent, and he will be making less money than what gordon wants, and plays 2 positions.  like i said before, we could have a 3 guard rotation of rose/salmons/hinrich, there's usually not room to squeeze a 4th guy in there..the only reason it worked towards the end of the year is deng was injured and we had nobody to play the 3 besides salmons, that will change next year.
