LET BG WALK. OR IF SOME TEAM IS FOOLISH ENOUGH TO OFFER expiring contracts and future 1st round picks FOR A SIGN AND TRADE. DO IT.

Trade : Tyrus Thomas for the rights to James Harden

Draft: James Johnson 16th, Terrance Williams 26th

Sign: Brandon Bass 3yrs. 8mil.  Morris Almond 3yrs 8mil.

Rose/Hinrich
Salmons/Harden
Deng/ Almond/ Williams
Bass/ Johnson
Noah/Miller

NOW PUT OURS DOWN AND WILL LET THE FUTURE BE THE JUDGE

I really don't think anyone would trade James Harden for Tyrus Thomas. Furthermore, for the trade you suggested, the team would have to give up cap space.

The Raptors don't want Hinrich, they have Calderon.  I dont' want Bosh, he's a perimter big that doesn't give us teh inside scoring punch we really need.  I'd rather make that same deal for Amare.  But I think at this point, Noah has more value and most teams will probably ask for him over Thomas.  Are you willing to swap him into that deal?

The best fit for the value in my mind is David West. But the Bulls would still have to pay. Another good fit is Kaman.

Kaman, yes.

West, no thank you. He's a jump shooter, an slight upgrade over what we had Drew Gooden. Paul dubbed him "17-foot Assassin". We need someone who can give us a semblance of post play.

If I were the GM of the Chicago Bulls.....

I'd do a lot of *** sitting, pot smoking, booze drinking... you know, not to stray too far away from actual management work.

Err, I'm not the biggest fan of David West but he is significantly better than Gooden. I would call him Bosh-lite.

Yeah, really. That's an insult to David West lol

The problem is, what would they give for Kaman? Salmons, Jerome JAmes, and a 1st?

Well this thread kind of fell apart lol

The idea was simple and so were some of the people who couldn't figure it out.

I'm for making something happen when things are uncertain for some teams financially, teams with 2010 FAs up in the air and GMs making moves out of desperation to save their jobs. The Bulls aren't in any of those spots and can work from a position of advantage with some players, an extra 1st and expiring contracts to trade.

Hinrich
to Minnesota (they get a point guard) for
Craig Smith
Rodney Carney
and the 18th pick in the first round

Gordon sign and trade with
the 16th pick in the first round
Joakim Noah
to Detroit (could move Hamilton to the 3) for
Tashaun Prince
their 1st round pick
their second round pick

Tim Thomas
to Oklahoma City (cuts 1 year $6.5 million of salary) for
Nick Collison

Tyrus Thomas
Luol Deng
18th pick from Minnesota
to Toronto (gets two starters, could still resign Marion) for
Chris Bosh
a second round pick

Still have Jerome James expiring contract
two first round picks
now two second round picks
all to trade or keep

Prince
Collison    Smith
Bosh   Miller
Salmons   Carney
Rose

big step up on defense from Gordon to Prince
Bosh can step outside as Collison, Smith and Miller with big bodies can bang in the lane
a big guard next to Rose and a scorer off the bench
either first round pick can back up at the 1,2,3.

Wow, outside of the Celtics two years ago (who actually got value in their trades) I've never seen a team blown up so much in one offseason.  Guess what, I think Paxson made most of his franchise changing moves for the next year and a half.  The smart thing for him to do is make sure he has the cap position he wants in 2010, and stand pat on a team capable of a 4 seed next postseason.  Wade or Lebron are going to bring titles to Chicago, no one else will even come close, that especially goes for Chris Bosh.
