I'm excited, now if he only actually does fall to us, which I have a feeling he will.

I like the idea of drafting Mullens and I also hope he falls to us.  He probably won't be that good for at least a couple of years, but that's fine considering that's around the time when we'd really want to have a potential post presence center to place next to hopefully an upgrade at the 4 (if Tyrus doesn't pan out with us, that is).  Also, what I like the most about him is that he has legit size but he's not as slow as Gray.  And I really like Gray because fundamentally he's a very smart player, but he's just too slow to play starters' minutes.  Mullens, on the other hand, could develop into a starter and would be great next to Joakim if Mullens reaches his potential.  And luckily, we should have another 7-footer on the way once Brad is gone in Omer Asik.

Yeah, I can see a 3 man rotation of Mullens, Asik, and Noah possibly working into a very good big man rotation with Noah playing power forward for the majority of the time, Mullens playing center for the majority of the time, and Asik switching off between the two spots. A lot of that depends on if Mullens and Asik actually pan out though. Noah we already know can be an adequate power forward.

Was that Mullens twitter page?!?! Great i hope he is there for us, at 16th you cant get anymore of a potentially great pick....but like i have saying all along, even if he puts up 10ppg for us down the road thats still a great pick us, because he is a athletic, legit 260 pound 7 footer. I just feel like there will be guys like James Johnsons in other drafts, i mean the easiest position to find is a SF in the NBA...you have to take a guy like Mullens....D Rose can make him a lot better then what he is.

First the Bulls have needs for next year and taking a project that won't contribute until year two if he develops at the earliest holds you back from advancing to the second round and maybe even making the playoffs. Taking someone who isn't going to play meaningful minutes but take up 3 years of #16 pick cap space hurts you from adding other players that can contribute.

If you want to suggest taking Mullens at 16 you've got to have at least one trade to go with it because you're looking at Noah and Tyrus starting, Miller and Tim Thomas coming off the bench to take all the 4-5 minutes, plus Deng at the 4 for the small lineup at times. No time for Mullens to get in a game.

I would still be looking at trading 16 and moving down and out of the 26 pick completely.  Looking at hoopsworld they have 4 mock drafts from their people side by side. Terrance Williams is projected to go 12,18,24 and 26 to the Bulls, Gerald Henderson 12,15,17,20, Eric Maynor 13,22,22,27, Austin Daye 12,15,23,28. When the players so fail to stand out that a guy can be seen anywhere from 12 to 28 you factor in needs and talent 8,14,16 spots translates to more like guesswork because there's no clear cut difference in how these players figure to help a team.

I almost fell out my chair when reading your mess. You have the audacity to say that anyone in this draft, but Mullens, will contribute next year, which will result in us getting into the second round... wow. If I'm not mistaken, BJ Mullens has the 3rd highest ceiling in this draft. Which means, he'll probably have a impact consistently come year 2. Remember, Paxson kept saying that Rose was a project. Plus, everybody kept saying take Beasley because he offers winning right away. Well, I feel comfortable endorsing Mullens over Blair, James Johnson, and Hansbrough. I know we had bad luck in the past with Curry and Chandler. Don't take it out Mullens because they failed. Why in the world would I want to draft Blair when I could draft someone like Bass or Big Baby Davis? Lets be serious, I'm tired of not having the guy whom can score on his own in the post. Blair will rely on his strength like Thomas rely on his hops, not a good combination if you feel where I'm going with this. Blair is much as a project as Mullens is. Mullens struggle with strength which can be gained. Blair, on the other hand, will never grow another inch. Plus, the dude has bad knees. And from all accounts, he doesn't want to be in Chicago. He said Cleveland is his preferred choice. Now, let me get to Hansbrough, the guy is cool but I'm not sold on him at 16. I'm tired of these high energy guys. I've seen them all from Laundry to Noah.

Upside
1. Ricky Rubio
2. Blake Griffin
3. Demar DeRozan
4. BJ Mullens
5. Earl Clark
6. Hasheem Thabeet
7. Brandon Jennings
8. Austin Daye
9. Jrue Holiday
10. James Harden

+2 Mullens isnt a scrub imo....he didnt get much time at Ohio State but the guy is not a scrub. Bulls arnt winning championships right now anyway, we have plenty of time to wait for Mullens...then when 2010 comes...GO After a Bosh or Stoudemire to put next to him. And i agree with you Dizzle...if were talking upside...Mullens has a ton of it. Plus according to that twitter page....he is saying 1 to 32 for the SLAM...meaning Rose to Mullens, he wants to be a Bull and thats always a good thing.

Exactly ChitownBulls, they act like these guys will make a difference in determining our stakes for the 09-10 season! IF anything, Mullens is our guy because Reinsdorf said we need a post presence in a interview.

Not sure if this got mentioned yet, But his Agent also cancelled a workout with the Nets. He told them that they all ready had a "Top 16 promise" and would not being doing the workout. So all this sounds like the Bulls are either set to take him 16th or they want Blair or some other player to drop and are trying to push Mullens above thier pick to move someone down. I think this is legit and they plan on drafting him, Now I wonder if he may have Jinx himself by running his mouth.

This promise could very easily be Detroit.

Could be.  But why would he say top 16?  Don't you think 16 is an odd number to say?  It's not a lottery pick number.  Also, he could have said top 15.

For the record, it may be Detroit or Thunder. I would say Bulls 3rd.

It could be...but i believe the Bulls really really want this guy. He has a 2nd workout today in Chicago, not sure if he is going or not but also on his Twitter page the other day... it says guarantee from MJ Town. So obviously the Bulls told him something. He is everything our team pretty much needs anyway....Gar and Pax want this guy and from the looks of it, he wants to be a Chicago Bull also.
