Earl Clark canceled a scheduled workout with the Chicago Bulls claiming vaguely that he had an injury.
There isn't much to be alarmed about here. Clark is probably taking a break and doesn't see Chicago (16th pick) as being a serious suitor for his services.

ben gordon was a guy he trusted and always passed to when he was open. those other guys are not the kind of shooters i'm talking about, they are more mid range guys. how many times did we see rose get hinrich, deng or salmons a wide open shot and those guys would pump fake then try to step in to get a better shot and end up passing up a wide open 3 for a contested 20 footer? they are not the kind of guy's rose needs. i said when he was drafted that deng and hinrich had to go and

Since Clark pulled out of our workout that might mean he has a promise maybe. Which would mean someone might be falling to us at 16. I really dont think Detroit wants to take Mullens....they opening tried to trade this pick, so if someone like James Johnson or Earl Clark are still on the board at 15th, i could see Detroit taking 1 of them also.
I dont remember DeAndre Jordan having any kind of offensive game last year....i thought he was mostly just tip ins and dunks.

I really just can't picture Bulls not taking BJ Mullens when the guy is one of the most workable projects ever at 16. You can't get any better than that. Most projects are a measly 7'0'' 220 or somewhere around that range. This dude can run the floor in Vinny's system. He can block shots with his help-side but his one-on-one defense isn't boastful. The dude can pick-and-pop, plus he insures, it's likely Tyrus or Joakim get dealt. I'm not sure you can get any better when drafting projects. Deandre Jordan was just someone that had a power mentally but his body wouldn't allow him to do such. He clearly is getting stronger every time I see him. He's a true meaning of someone being a project. I think in Mullens case, someone is going to teach him the ropes. FYI, Bulls already worked BJ Mullens out in their first group arrival. Now he's coming in Tuesday to put more work in. I think he might be our guy come Thursday, I hope that's true too.

Mullens has a soft touch around the rim too....not many bigs have that like he does. He has showed signs of jump hooks, which could be his #1 option in the future.

Like has been said a million times, athletic and skilled big men (in other words, athletic ones that don't trip over their own feet on a regular basis) don't come around all that often. If you can get one at #16, project or not, and already have a great point guard, then you don't pass up on him unless there's an even better skilled and athletic big man there.
