Okay, so, I know there are some hockey fans on here since that playoff thread was popular. Just like the NBA, the frenzy begins tonight at midnight.
Aside from the draft there have been some trades:
Panthers sent D Jay Bouwemeester to Calgary for D Jordan Leopold (plus filler), Ducks send D Chris Pronger to Philedelphia for RW Joffrey Lupul, D Lucas Sbisa, and two draft picks.
Just about 5 minutes ago, it was rumored the Senators traded LW Dany Heatley to Edmonton for C Andrew Cogliano, D Ladislav Smid, and LW Dustin Penner, but it's nothing official until Heatley makes his decision when the free agency period begins. There was also NYR trading Scott Gomez to Montreal for Chris Higgins.
so yeah, thats it for now, more to come I'm sure.

Vancouver has re-signed the Sedin twins, to 5-year, 30.5 million dollar deals.
Tampa Bay has signed D Mattias Ohlund for 7-years, 26.2 million dollars.

Report: Hawks close to deal with HossaBy Al Cimaglia ESPNChicago.com ArchiveDarren Dreger from TSN.ca is reporting free agent Marian Hossa is close to signing with the Blackhawks. From a salary-cap standpoint, Hossa most likely would sign for one season, the way he did last summer with the Red Wings. But if Hossa is in the Hawks' plans for more than one year, there must be a trade coming. A Hossa signing in Chicago would mean Marty Havlat's days as a Hawk are over. When players are brought in on a one-year contract, it seldom leads to a Stanley Cup. The same can be said for big-name players acquired at the trade deadline. If the Hawks don't keep Havlat, Hossa would be a good replacement. Hossa scored 40 goals and 31 assists last season while Havlat scored 29 goals and 48 assists.

How are they going to resign Kane and Toews? They have boatloads locked up in Hossa, Huet and Campbell.

Havlat will be on his way out of town.
Some other minor-ish signings:
Dwyane Roloson to Islanders Ty Conklin to Blues Steve Montador to Buffalo Tomas Kopecky to Chicago Colton Orr to Toronto
waiting for the Leafs to make a splash. hoping they can sign Mike Cammalerri.

Yes! Hossa baby!! Havlat's asking price was so huge, i was shocked. I doubt he plays all 12 years on the fricken contract. Dale Talon has risen this franchise from the grave. Revenue and ticket sales will never be a problem in Chicago and i see Kane and Toews giving home town discounts as long as it means championships.

Hossa is a great regular season player. But you will soon be lauding this deal when he dissapears in the playoffs.
Hawks just lost Khabibulin to Edmonoton -15mil 4 years.
