The Pistons have waived C/F Fabricio Oberto a little more than a week after acquiring him in a three-team deal with the Bucks and Spurs that sent Amir Johnson to Milwaukee.

Well, I guess that trade was useless, although if someone picks up Oberto they take on his salary which is approximately 3.6 million, which whould give us space to sign another quality player because we still have cap room left even if he doesn't sign elsewhere.  But, that begs the question, why didn't we just waive Amir Johnson, who probably has more value around the league.
