I like the signing of BG. Anyone who watched the Pistons this year knew that we would go through some serious scoring droughts that not even Rip could get us out of, especially in the 4th quarter. This is where we will especially notice the value of having BG, who can light it up no matter what defense he's playing against. They may have overpaid by about a million a year, but it's still better to have him than to be playing against him. Chicago is really hurt right now...Their fans saying they're better off without him are delusional, they're really gonna have trouble scoring next season unless they add someone else.

Exactly bg is a great player we have enough guards who can play good defense and has the height (deron washington not a guard but hes a defensive specialist)

now with cv bg and possibly boozer for rip the pistons are looking ahead while the bulls (i think) are tanking even with the number one pick the pistons havent been in the lottery since 03 and still are nowhere near it of course bulls fans are gonna hate this i.e u paid him too much but they have no right to talk about overpaying remember Ben Wallace hes not worth 60 million dollars the bulls paid him

haha... as a bulls fan i totally agree about the ben wallace comment.. very true. i actually forgot he was on the bulls... but as a bulls fan it was always a love/hate relationship we had here with BG.  There were nights he would drop 30 pts and the next he would score 6pts.  Im happy we did not resign him, not the fact that i think he sucks as a player, but he probably did not fit our team.  We already have a guy here (Deng) making 10 mil who can be ur no.2 option, we need to go out now and find a stud and that meant not resigning Gordon, which was unfortunate, but it was something that had to be done for the continued development of D.Rose and the opportunity to sign a superstar in the future. . . I really liked BG when he was here in chicago (i even had his jersey) but it we had to let him go.  Im happy BG got paid and wish him all the luck in the world, just not when he plays against the bulls  Wink

Ben Gordon. Can't say I like the signing but I will give Joe D the benefit of the doubt... but this is the last time. I hope I am eating my words during the season and the Pistons are contending but I really don't see that happening. We would be if we still had Billups....

To me, Billups AND McDyess for A.I is the worst trade in the history of the N.B.A. I could give a rat's @ss about the "cap space" because Billups is more valuable than that. Imagine if we traded Chauncey on draft day... or during the season when he was on fire instead of trading him for "the answer with back problems."

But back to Gordon. Shiiiiit. Ben's usually do well in Detroit.... I just don't want to see him dropping 25+ points a night but give up the same you know? Gotta play 2-way basketball and he really doesn't. Plus the thing is, Stuckey is exactly like Ben Gordon, but he doesn't have the jumper....but the same defense... I really can't stand losing games because of defense... Also, Joe D still hasn't addressed our needs! WE STILL NEED A STARTING PG. It cannot be Stuck, run him at the 2 Joe! C'mon!  On another note, Will Bynum is becoming my favorite Piston... I would start him over Stuck at PG if we don't bring in another PG. He doesn't take plays off, plays suffocating defense and penetrates through any defense.

I am starting to like the signing of BG because of the "possibilities"...the back-loading contract probably makes more sense then flat out paying BG $11 per year.  This also looks very familiar to Rip & Tay's contracts.  Yes  BG's defense is questionable.  If you drop 25 and give up 25 then that is a huge problem.  Hopefully, the new coach will have a defensive specialist on his coaching staff.

As far as Rip or Tay's future with the team, they are both expendable if the right trade comes along.  I don't think Bosh is going to land here nor do I think Boozer will be. The rumor this morning was Boozer to Chicago but the Bulls seem to be in denial.  I'm not "sold" on Boozer so maybe there could be something else in the works for Joe Dumars.

I think this roster is young and can contend with the 5th-8th spot this year.  I also think people are sleeping on Deron Washington. Excited about the summer league today just to see the new guys run.
