RE-SIGN ofcourse.....why?

Well let see

The Joe Dumars is giving him:

The Max contract deal
He's the new piston's face/leader
The pistons picked him up after many teams ditched him
He has great chances of winning the champs with pistons
Pistons got great winning record and now they have Webber
Piston made him an All Star and he's now a back-to-back all star
He has great team mates in detroit.

So its gotta be detroit.

I heard an ESPN guy months ago state a likely defection to the Bucks.  Personally I think Orlando is screaming for a guy like this and has all the room to sign him.

i bet theres a chance they wont urge him much to return because theyre all getting old and his max contract would be very hard to move because he is in his thirties and he is not much of a catalyst which a lot of teams prefer to acquire nowadays

Depends on how far the Pistons go' but I'd think he would go well in a Laker uniform i'd shop for him maybe even 3 way Andrew Bynum to land Billups and keep Lamar the money will be an issue though!

I also heard about a possible defection to the Bucks but that's unlikely. I hope the Pistons re-sign him. He wasn't as old as Ben when they let him go but Chauncey is a little long in the tooth. I think they should resign him to a 5 year, $60 million deal with the bulk of the money in the first year.
1st- 16 million
2nd- 14 million
3rd- 12 million
4th- 10 million
5th- 8 million
That way as he ages they have cap room to surround him with talent to continue contending.

if detrot loses this series i think it's a sign the team is starting to decline and get old. i honestly think he may opt to leave if he gets a better offer of the teams continues to fade.
