#1. Up and Coming Rookies/Young Players

This is one of my favorite things in the NBA, seeing a young player with a lot of talent emerge as a star. Why? I love seeing how they grow as players, and how they start to take over a team. They give us a glimpse at the future, we get to see who will be running the league in the next 5 years.

It's exciting seeing a young player stepping up and taking control at the highest playing level.

LQ | HD

We pretty much saw Derrick Rose turn into a star in this series. In his 1st play off game, as a rookie, he put put up 36 points, 11 assists and 4 rebounds in an overtime win. How amazing was it to see this guy play?

And lets not forget the 23 year old point guard for the Celtics, Rajon Rondo, who averaged 17, 10, and 10 through his 14 games of the playoffs. Seeing these two young stars duel was as entertaining as anything, and we know we'll be seeing this for years to come.

Some other up and coming stars in the NBA:

Feel free to comment/discuss my post and other up and coming players.

Although this 20 year old player will most likely never be a true star in the League, I think he will become a 20ppg 6th man every championship contender will drool over. I present to you...Eric Gordon

Although he is a SG at only 6'3, he has excellent athleticism, strength, and quickness to make up for it. He has unlimited range and a quick release with his textbook form. Add that with his explosive first step and superb finishing ability, well, he's difficult to guard. As a rookie, he averaged 16/3/3/1. I look for him to become a 20/4/4/2 player in the future.

Once he works on his ball handling abilities and defense(which he certainly has the tools to become very good), he'll get a fat contract with a good team. (preferably the Lakers)

#2. Clutch Performances in Close Games.

One of my favorite things in the NBA are the Clutch performances in the close games throughout the whole year. As seen above LeBron celebrating his Buzzer beater in the Eastern Conference Finals versus the eventual Eastern Conference Champions Orlando Magic. That my friends was a play to remember. Let me break it down for you
One second on the clock, Cleveland down 95 to 93 after Rashard Lewis hit a clutch 3 on the other end. Cavs coming out of a time out looking to set up Mo Williams to inbound. It was clear that the ball was going to go to Lebron James. The play drawn up was him to drive down the lane looking for a lob pass to lay it up or dunk it quickly at the buzzer. Hedo Turkoglu was guarding LeBron and pushed him outside past the three point line, the inbounds pass right to him. Lebron goes up. Swish. The Quicken Loans Arena goes nuts the Cavs bench empties to jump around Lebron in his amazing last play.

Since the Beginning of time there has been buzzer beaters and there was always one that changed the game in its own right. The Logo. Mr. Jerry West. A game I know little about because I was still chillin in my dad’s junk at the time. All I know is from a YouTube video. West’s Lakers were playing The New York Knicks in Game 3 of the 1970 finals. It was a tie game NY’s Dave DeBusschere just hit a jumper to give NY a 2-point lead. 4 seconds on the clock the Lakers inbounded the ball to jerry west who dribbled towards the middle of the court with one second on the clock he threw it up. Half court. He made it tied the game sent it to overtime. If Three-pointers were around then Lakers would have one and by more than just that shot probably.

Throughout the years there has been countless clutch performances by NBA players including Michael Jordan’s shot against Utah and against Cleveland. Derek Fisher’s amazing 0.4 feat. Devin
Harris’s Halfcourt miracle. And many more. But watching these top player perform with intensity and desire to win knowing it’s going to come down to the wire is what makes me love clutch performances In the NBA. And the NBA in general.

This has the potential to be one of the best NBA related threads i havee ever read on any site.

Let's Start with DeronWilliams young players/rookies reason:   We already know my stance in my eyes it is OJ Mayo then everybody else, but there is no reason to beat a dead horse I am doing that in the other thread lol.

Anyway yeah I was actually at the Garden Game 1 with Rose's performance. he was simply playing out of his mind. I like to see how Stephen Curry plays at the NBA level. we all loved watching him in the 2008 NCAA tournament. Great Post

For JR the BeatBest:

Yes, another great psot. We all love when the game in on the line who makes the beg plays and who ends up choking. Like with Carmelo Anthony and Kobe Bryant you know they are going to make plays and hit the game winnerand there is nothing you can do about it.

As for my favorite clutch moment it is obvious Jordan's game 6 against 1998 thats a no brainer.
My second favorite was Game 1 Chicago bulls vs New Jersey Nets First Round

The Nets somehow manage to send it to overtime then with a minute left in the game MJ comes to the rescue again. 91-91 MJ steals the ball and Dunks on the dude with an and1 foul.  MJ=Best

LOL, funny how this thread is turning out. At first I laughed when I read JR the Beatbeast's post because it was actually typed legibly, and now I'm laughing because no one is following directions, and DeronWilliams is probably going "wtf" for the 79th time right now.

Continuing on from the clutch performances...

Although the Lakers lost the series, I remember I literally jumped out of my seat and ran around in a hundred circles when Bryant hit the game typing floater. Then when he hit the game winning shot, I just ran straight out of my house to Unicorn Village.

It is a bit of a mess right now but I'll have everything sorted out soon.

Thanks for the comment gogo, the game winner in overtime still gives me chills. Its a shame the Lakers lost that series, all they had to do was grab a rebound in game 6, instead, the Suns get an offensive rebound and Tim Thomas hits that 3 to send it to OT, where the Lakers lost. Sad

#3. The NBA Draft

Where some dreams are made and some dreams are never lived, the nba draft has been around for years and has introduced many different players over the years.  Sometimes, dreams dont go as planned

The best thing about the nba draft it gives youngins hope of becoming one of many players to shake the commisioner hand and play against the world best.

Oh yea dont believe the hype

I love draft night, hoping your team makes the right pick, hoping they pull off the right deal, lots of fun.

One of my favorite things of the draft are the steals that some teams get.

57th overall

31st overall

47th overall

34th overall

and plenty more.
