I am also reading where we are targeting Ryan Hollin (RFA) from Dallas.  He would be a good pickup and I could see us doing a sign and trade with Dallas, sending them Diener.

If both the Solomon Jones and Ryan Hollins  rumors are true, we now have a overstock at the front line positions.

Murphy - Hansbrough - McRoberts - Jones
Hibbert - Foster - Hollins

If we are trading Diener to get Hollins that leaves us at the Point:
Ford - Watson - Price

Currently at the wings we have:
Granger - Rush - Jones - Dunleavey

If we pickup Tony Allen in the Daniels S&T with Boston, we would be full.

Ford - Watson - Price
Jones - Rush - Allen
Granger - Dunleavey
Murphy - Hansbrough - McRoberts
Hibbert - Foster - Jones - Hollins

Something else would be going on in the background that we aren't hearing because no one is talking about it.  How is Foster's health??? Is Murphy being traded???

When you have only 5 wings and one is out for long term, you can't stockpile bigs.

what i read was the pacers don't want tony Allen though so they are still far apart.

and i don't think that they will want to trade Murphy just yet he is continuing to improve and should only build value so i would think they hold him until they see what Hansbrough can do.

Okay.  so the Pacers have now signed AJ Price to a multi-year deal.  I think it is a good idea because I think he was a steal.  This now gives us 4 PGs on the roster with contracts.

PG    TJ Ford - Earl Watson - Travis Diener - AJ Price
SG    Jones - Rush
SF    Granger - Dunleavey
PF    Murphy - Hansbrough - Jones - McRoberts
C      Hibbert - Foster

What are your thoughts on the rest of the summer???

1.  Travis Diener is on the block
2.  If Stephen Graham hasn't signed anywhere else by training camp, he will be brought back.

I have heard a rumor about us trying to get Amare from Phoenix, but it makes no sense considering the defensive tone we are moving with.

September 17th...

Pacers again add a solid player that no one will notice at first.

Luther Head has joined the Blue and Gold.  He has deep distance shooting and is also very athletic.

Ford - Watson - Diener - Price
Rush - Jones - Head
Granger - Dunleavey
Murphy - Hansbrough - McRoberts
Hibbert - Jones - Foster

Look for Diener to be moved before the season starts.  To Miami would be my guess.

Miami has a replica of Diener in Chris Quinn, I don't see them needing him. He should probably just be waived.

Hibberts gotta work on that rebounding, and he'll be a fine, serviceable centre. If they can get him to toughen up and carve him out a niche in the low post, he'll do just fine.

Yeah, I was a fan of him coming out of the draft... was glad to see the Raptors draft him but I knew we would trade him to Indiana in that JO Deal.. which I can admit we lost. They can also start Hansborough at PF and have Murphy play Center, or have McRoberts at PF.
