Baltimore needs an NBA franchise!
The only problem is
what would the team name be?
 Hit this post up with some replies then maybe we can do a poll to see whats the best one.
PS the name shouldnt have anything to do with STD's, heroin, or murder
"damn, what else is baltimore known for?" :?: :?

I love Maryland Crabcakes and other crab stuff and Baltimore is famous for that but if it was the Baltimore Crabs that would still break the STD thing. Haha. You are right this city does need a NBA franchise. My school from western Maryland plays in the BCL.

Baltimore had a basketball team, there's a reason Polin moved them DC.

DC is too close to Baltimore, IMO. If we had different leagues that never played eachother more than once a year like baseball does I'd want Baltimore to have a franchise. Same reason the Orioles owner didnt want the Nationals to come to DC.

The problem with moving a team to Baltimore is that Polin has catered to the Baltimore crowd since the beginning. They started out there, but when Polin moved them he never alienated the Baltimore area. This is far different from Baseball and Football, where both cities were used to having teams, until terrible owners moved them away (the Colts and the Senators respectively). Not to mention that the owners of the remaining two teams just assumed that Baltimore or DC was their territory and the people of those areas hated them for it. There's no ill will between the two cities in basketball like there is in Baseball and Football, so there's never really been a call for a seperate franchise in Baltimore.

Well, if Baltimore were to get a team, they'd have to come up with another name because I'm fairly certain that Polin owns the rights to the Bullets name. And for the record I'm DC fan.

What other bird name would make sense, the oriole is the state bird, and the raven is because edgar allen poe resided in Baltimore.
