Guy has perfect game through 8.2 getting the last out, and the ump blows the call. Completely robbed right now.

Insane. Jim Joyce sucks. Highly disappointed in the Tigers fans though. The lack of the beer/beverage tossing on Joyce as he was walking out. You guys know the drill, treat the man like he was Jermaine O'Neal during the Malice at the Palace.

I feel sick after watching that live. Joyce - YOU GO TO *** HELL. Clearly out and you ruin it for the young pitcher. I feel terrible for Armando Gallarraga.

He was CLEARLY out and even if was close, in that situation.. YOU CALL THE MAN OUT. What the hell was he thinking!?

Although I share your sentiments. I don't think you call him out even if its close in that situation. They need to call it like they see it regardless of situation. What if it was close but the batter was really safe, and it was an elimination game? We can't have them call the runner out just because its a perfect game.

But...in this situation, the runner was clearly out, it wasn't even close. I would argue that if it was a tie, the call should go to the pitcher with the perfect game, but that situation is rare.

Still pretty nuts. 3 perfect games all within about a month of each other. Gotta wonder how many more we'll get this season.

A tie is what a meant when I said close. I pitched my first few years in college and I know how difficult it is to throw a flawless game like that. Armando deserved it!

The sad thing is that Austin Jackson's big catch in the ninth will be completely overshadowed.

I was just gonna say that, what a freaking catch too. God. What a horrible call. This is the reason they need instant replay in baseball I really don't care what anyone says. They do it to discuss homeruns, this is the same ***.

Joyce just openly admitted he totally blew the call. Great that brings back the Perfect game.

I was gonna put 3*, but it's still three. Everybody knows it was a perfect game, even Joyce knows he f'd up. Even though it won't go down in the history books, Armando Gallaraga threw a perfect game.

Feel terrible for Gallaraga, although I put just as much blame on the system for this happening, if instant replay for this kind of situation were available this never would've happened.

Also this sucks because its completely overshadowed Ken Griffey Jr's retirement, see the thread below.
