GIVE THIS MAN A BREAK LOLLOL I do feel for the guy, and he seemed apathetic towards Gallaraga. He handled it correctly.

Not to mention Joyce said he recieved death threats. I mean, I know it was a big screw up, but it's a baseball game! Some people take sports way too seriously.

My dad came up with a new word to teach his baseball team sportsmanship "Galarraganize" LOL. Everytime someone throws a helmet or something he said hes going to make them galarraganizte the situation.

Feel terrible for Gallaraga, although I put just as much blame on the system for this happening, if instant replay for this kind of situation were available this never would've happened.
Also this sucks because its completely overshadowed Ken Griffey Jr's retirement, see the thread below.
If there were instant replays in Baseball it would become the slowest, most boring sport of all time. It's already so slow, and you want to delay it by even more. Anyway, I'm not hating on the game, I played Baseball from the age of 4 to 16 (don't play anymore) and the game is fun to play, but it's so boring to watch.

Ive seen worse calls in just about every Yankees or Red Sox game, or the Braves when they were dominant. Joyce just had bad timing and circumstance for his bad call.

LAst year's playoffs had a lot more bad calls than this.

Did it result in a blown perfect game with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th? ........................................... ........................................... ........................................... No. Therefore there wasn't a worse call than this

Galarraga would have a plack in the hall of fame if Joyce called Donald out. Face it the Yankees were going to win anyways.

Joyce just openly admitted he totally blew the call. Great that brings back the Perfect game.
What else do you want him to do? Seriousy, I've seen more obvious calls blown in my life. At least he manned up and said that he blew it, that's more than what ANY NBA referee would be willing to do. I give the man credit for admitting his mistake in a world where everything is someone else's fault. Also, I give huge credit to Gallarraga for handling the situation like a man. I do agree with what you said earlier about how the umpire needs to make the right call, rather it's close or not, you don't want to throw a tainted perfect game in there with all of the rest of them. Lastly, I just want to say that I'm glad that Selig isn't changing anything, that would be a HORRIBLE slippery slope to go down where you could pretty much rewrite the entire history book due to that. Hey, at least maybe the Cubs wouldn't have been scr*wed out of that 1984 home field advantage if they did that though.
