Saul " Canelo " Alvarez is the next bad motherfucker in boxing. Bet that. If Abe Concepcion had Canelo's discipline he would be right there with him, but he doesn't. Canelo beat the shit out of Ricky Hatton's brother last night. It was funny as hell. Canelo has a NASTY left double-hook to the body and lands 4 to 6 punch combos like Pacquiao. He's a funny dude to see too... mexican with red hair and freckles... matter of fact he looks like mini- Blake Griffin. LOL Stocky too. 154lbs division with light heavy-weight power it seems. Punches sound like THUDS

that shi t was dirty. i personally hate Anderson but he is the fu cking man the only person i could see taking him would be Jon Jones or Machida i think he's kinda of a bit ch though for not fighting at 205 He's not gonna fight at 205 when a Black House associate is vying for the title (which, granted, he might not be really anymore) |

Yeah, Canelo is looking like he is going to have a bright future. Got good power and he's a great combination puncher. They saying his next fight is going to be in Mexico sometime in June...Hopefully James Kirkland can get back to the top of 154 by the end of the year. A James Kirkland-Canelo Alvarez fight will be a WAR.

that was a hell of a fight! 2 knockdowns a piece... power knockdowns, not flash knockdowns. Ortiz definately wanted it more and you can't blame him after all the shit everybody's given him. I thought Berto would outclass Ortiz with boxing, but Ortiz attacked his ass from the round 1 and made it a " Manny Pacquiao " assault. That KO surprised the hell out of me. This guy is tall for his weight class, but he only had like 6 KO's in 30 fights...Kirkland always had a suspect chin but losing to a feather fisted fighter like that was shocking. Canelo just signed his next fight. It's going to be in June against Ryan Rhodes. Going to be a tough fight for Canelo. Rhodes is no pushover. |

This fight was amazing. That round 6 was one of the craziest rounds I've ever seen. Entire fight was a classic. Ortiz finally redeemed himself against his loss to Maidana.
Props to Berto too. Both guys fought their hearts out. Ortiz was just propelled himself to Pac/Mayweather talks.
Berto should go after a young up and comer like Mike Jones. Winner gets to fight a top 3 Welterweight.

I know this wasn't directed towards me, but Maidana is a very one-dimensional fighter... He fights with a lot of heart and always puts on entertaining fights. He's basically a tough gatekeeper at 140. Yeah I agree is pretty one-dimensional. I think he just needs to work on his technique and defensive abilities. Oh and stamina, he comes out with early barrages but seems to get winded after a minute of bulldogging. He did put the moves on Ortiz though and gave him a nasty mouse, not nearly as nasty as Morales' though |
